No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I have had several days of in-control eating and good food choices. I have been trying to be more "present" with what is going on in my body and my head to be more aware of my choices. I tried "intuitive eating" several years ago and although that approach did not help me to lose any weight, it did give me a better understanding of body signals.
Anyways, this evening I saw a little sandwich bag of cookies left over from my daughter's lunch. I toss whatever they don't eat into the fruit bowl I keep on the table, so when they say "I'm hungry" 15 minutes after getting off the bus I can direct them to their unfinished lunches. I was very close to my calorie limit for the day and I was not hungry, but I really wanted those cookies.
So I had one. Chewed it and didn't just hork it down so I could throw the others in after it. It was okay - Chips Ahoy cookies are kinda gross, dry and crumbly, but it hit that sweet fix.
Somehow, I zipped the bag closed and tossed it back into the bowl. And I sat there for a minute, thinking about what I had just done.
Holy shit, I stopped at one cookie.
Wow. Small and maybe a weird thing to focus on, but I feel like this is a small victory.
