Who'd have thought it would be so hard to lose weight?

Who would have thought it would be so hard to lose weight? I am back up to 224 and have been following my points religiously. I have been working out almost every night for at least 1/2 to 1 hour and walking the dog every morning for 1/2 hour. The scale just will not budge. It is so frustrating! Could I be gaining muscle enough to cause me to not lose weight? At what point do you start to gain muscle from working out that it would cause me to not lose weight? I really have no idea but am hoping I am gaining muscle (which weighs more) and losing fat and that is what is causing me to not lose weight. FRUSTRATION!

OMG, that's where I'm at! I was just wondering the same thing, in fact, I was about to skip reading blogs today for the same reason. I've read muscles retain water to heal, but how much water?? I used to think it would be hard to stick to eating healthy and be on points but the hardest part has been losing weight. Ugh, I feel 'ya :\

Forget the scale for a second...How are your clothes fitting? Even when I feel betrayed by the scale gods, chances are my pants are fitting better or my watch and rings are a bit looser. Are you sure you are eating the correct amount of Points? I feel ya too!

I would talk to your leader (you said points, so I assume you are doing WW) sometimes it's something as simple as adding in some of your activity points. Sometimes it's not, i was on a 4 month plateau when I started running, then I gave up alcohol and it dropped off. OK, not dropped, but I lost a lot of weight after that ;-) Also, if you are eating a lot of something that specific, you may want to double check the points or see if the points go up dramatically if you have2 versus 1... There could be a few different things going on. If you aren't attending meetings, you may want to go to the WW website and look on the message boards to see what other suggest. Good luck to you!

I'm no expert but i'd suggest taking your measurements of arms, bust, waist, and thighs. Do your clothes feel any different? Your workouts of 1/2hr to 1 hour....is it cardio, strength? Do you sweat? I only notice a change when i've had a good sweat. Good luck and keep up the great work, don't get discouraged.
