No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Good grief. The weekend was way too short and I hardly did anything. I was in a bit of a funk all weekend and so far most of this week. I hate to blame everything on this menopause shit but, UGH, the symptoms just seem to be getting worse. I'm not sure what else it could be because life is pretty normal otherwise.
I started my week with horrible, awful, awful food poisoning on Monday afternoon. Of course, it lasted just until about 3am on Tuesday morning so I was just OK to go to work. Then yesterday was my first pole fitness class. It was interesting, a whole lot of fun and pretty TOUGH. It is no joke. We started with 20 minutes of 'warm-up' which was more like 1000 types of exercise that all worked our entire bodies, especially the upper body. I was dripping in sweat by the end of 20 minutes, not to mention I still wasn't feeling 100% from the food poisoning extravaganza. After the 'warm-up' the instructor taught me and 2 other new girls a few of the basic pole moves. They were pretty easy and the last few involved a spin around the pole (I can't believe I'm writing this - lol ) that used ALL upper body strength and almost killed me, as well as some sort of split thing that wasn't too tough. The thing that I loved was that it was different, it was fun, it was a good strength workout and the instructor was awesome. She accommodated everyone, whether it was their 1st or 50th time. It was a small class of about 10 ladies. It will be a lot of fun. I just need to be careful and not get injured. My entire body is sore today and I have another class tomorrow. Yites!
TWO more days until the weekend! We can do this!
Comment by LindaB on January 17, 2013 at 6:16am So glad that you had fun with the Pole - I'm proud of you. As self conscience as I am, I don't think I could have gone through with it. Feel better.
Comment by Angie Y on January 17, 2013 at 7:45am Yikes! Food poisoning!! Gah Im sorry you got sick!! The pole dancing ..OMG Im so JEALOUS. That is something I would be doing FO SHO! So Fun!!!
Comment by Christy on January 17, 2013 at 8:41am I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to stop giggling. I sometimes even get the giggles in zumba when I catch myself in the mirror attempting those moves. Haha
Did you feel awkward/uncomfortable during it? I would have felt sort of embarassed and strange doing that in front of others---or even alone. :P
Comment by Almost There on January 17, 2013 at 10:47am I am so glad you had fun with the pole dancing. Bummer about the food poisoning and menopause issues. Have you considered going to a doctor? I don't know if they'd be able to help, but maybe find out if something is out of whack.
Comment by Dee on January 17, 2013 at 5:48pm Wow, you make pole fitness sound appealing! Sounds like the class has a nice vibe, which will be an extra thing that makes you look forward to going. I hope you feel better- and after the food poisoning, I would have called out sick even though I was somewhat better! If anything, you could have used the sleep!
Comment by Cindy on January 17, 2013 at 9:37pm Christy and Keem -I had several points where I just laughed and laughed but it was still fun. I did feel a little weird with a couple of moves because even though it's fitness based they still throw in a few 'sexy' moves. I just tried them while I laughed.
AT - I hadn't considered going to a doctor but now I'm hearing that it's possible there's something else going on. I may reconsider just for my own mental health.
