No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Well not enough workouts have started to catch up with me! I lost only 0.5 this week. I won't complain it is still a loss and I'll take it! I think mentally that since last week I lost 1.5 without working out that I thought I could just keep going like that until I start to plateau, then I could ramp up the workouts. But truthfully I've been lazy and I know it. I want to incorporate the workouts regardless of what it is doing to my weight. I want to BE healthy!!!! I have been crazy busy with life! The kids started school last week and I'm in college I also started last week. I'm taking 3 classes and the homework is pretty time consuming. Plus I work and my work schedule is unpredictable. Some weeks its 2 nights others it is 4. Now work wants me to put in more hours because we have been so busy. But I'm not sure if I can...I worked yesterday and the waistband on my work pants is getting pretty loose!
My business trip for my new job is at the end of next week! I'm so excited to start my new position, yet I don't yet know when I'll even begin! I'm a planner so it is painful for me not to know. I was told to bring a bathing suit and yoga clothes because the hotel is supposed to have awesome amenities! Awesome if I can get some sort of exercise in while I'm there. I'm still a little concerned about what food will be served, but I'm trying not to stress over it! Normally I'd pack a ton of stuff but we are not checking any bags, we will only have our carry on bags, and I know airlines are so strict now, so I can't pack much. I'm already worried that I won't have enough conditioner! I use a ton of hair conditioner! I have to research what the rules are! LOL Any ideas of what I can & should pack for snacks? Or would you wing it? Looks like the hotel has a pretty nice store that has grocery items. I could maybe hit that if the conference food is not going to cut it. Anyway I think I've been a little preoccupied with all this stuff swirling through my mind and the newness of the diet/exercise routine has not been as front and center as it had been before. My energy has been more focused on starting school/homework and thinking about the new job plus working my current job and being a Mom & wife...you know how it is!
I will hit the Farmer's Market today after class to restock my depleted produce supply!!!
Please comment also if you have any pointers to flying with just carry on ('I've never done it)...And if you think that they will have some healthy choices with conference food?! Thanks!
Comment by fit4life on September 4, 2012 at 9:58am I suppose it's possible the conference will have some healthy choices--maybe some fresh fruits and veggies...If it were me and I couldn't take a bunch of snacks I would hit a grocery or other store that has snacks with labels....A lot of food service like conferences tend to do whatever they can to make the food taste good...lots of butter and sugar, so unless you are super good at portion control, or you don't care, maybe pick up some good stuff....I've been wrong when I've trusted restaurants/buffets before and my weigh-ins suffered. That's just me.
If you eat what's there, have some app to plug it into so you're at least aware of the intake instead of flying blindly. If you can't do that, then be very mindful of portions and make the best choices you can.
It wouldn't hurt to bring a few good snacks. :)
Comment by Lynette S on September 5, 2012 at 11:58am OK, liquids first, 3 oz containers in a quart ziplock bag, if those are the only liquids you bring, just buy a few of the 3 oz bottles and fill them up with conditioner. Hotel will have shampoo, bath gel etc. I usually save my liquids for lipstick, hairspray (travel size), a tide stick, travel size febreze (to freshen up clothes), anti-bacterial gel, and mascara.
Carry on. Roll your clothes, saves on space and allows you to get more in. There is no weight requirement on carry on's just size, rolling clothes can squeeze more clothes in. Make sure to bring items you can wear more then once. For example, I have some great linen pants that I wear for a few different occasions. All basics, whites/blacks/gray's, when I only bring one color scheme, I only need black shoes. Wear your heaviest items. I also bring a giant "purse/tote" and put my smaller purse inside of it, so that I still have some extra space for stuff.
That's all I can think of of the top of my head. What can I say, we travel a lot :-D
