Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

So I got an email from my son's teacher last night in need of a volunteer in the morning.  I'm the room mom, I love being there, so I generally pinch hit when she needs extra workers.  Apparently three parents in a row had had to cancel over the last few days and she was in desperate need of help photocopying, etc.  so even though I was scheduled in the afternoon, I agreed to get there in the morning too, I am, after all, a stay-at-home mom to an only child!

This morning it occurred to me that today was my day to walk the dog.  I didn't make my goal last week of walking the dog 3 times, so i festered on it a bit, wondering when I would squeeze in my walk (i'm not an evening worker-outer).  So I got to class, busted my butt, finished all her stacks, and asked nicely if I could leave until my regularly scheduled slot.  I got home, changed my clothes and went on my walk with the dog!  Got home, made a yummy lunch and then headed back to school!  I felt very accomplished, getting it in there with no excuses.  I totally could have (and in the past would have) moaned and groaned about changing out of my clothes, mess up my makeup, etc.  Today I decided that it would be a good stress reliever, make the Pooch happy, & make me happy.  So away we went for a 40minute walk and I feel so good that I got it done!

Everything else is great, staying on track, eating right, and enjoying life right now.  Looking forward to the rain we are supposed to get in the next few days, wash that pollen away!

Cheers ~ lynette

Glad you worked it all out.

Just a word of advice--don't burn out on the helper thing or put yourself in a position that you feel taken advantage of. :)

I'm looking at my giant 126lb lump of a black lab while you are describing taking your pooch for a walk....he looked at me like he would rather I take him for a "sleep" instead!  Actually, we are fortunate to live on a farm where the pups can walk themselves!

Way to go with being flexible and not letting life get in the way of taking care of yourself and your pup!

Sounds awesome! Good for you for going in to help the teacher, when I was teaching we had the best parents and they really make the school such a better place...I look forward to when my youngest starts school and then I can have more time to get in and help too :-) Walking the dog is so relaxing isn't it?

Great job getting out there and walking the dog!  I am sure you both enjoyed it!

First of all, your energy and positivity flowing from your productive day is bounding off the page! Sounds like a great day. WAY TO GO on prioritizing your workout! That was a rough one to pull off when you had a full day in class. You were able to help the teacher, AND do what you needed to do for yourself. Rock on, Lynn...

Awesome job, getting your walk in!  I'm sure the dog is LOVING all these walks too!
