Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Well, most of it anyway. I just now realized, nearly FOUR hours later that I forgot to document dinner(supper). It took me eleven years to figure out what to even make!  Well, let's start at the top, shall we?

This be my Waffle House substitute. I have a severe fondness for their Bacon,Egg and Cheese Melt on Texas Toast.  This is Egg Beater, with a dab of Bacon Bits ( Bacon Dust), Mushrooms and a smidge of onion powder with a slice of R/F American between grilled Whole Wheat White Bread. ( the 110 cal for 2 slices type. I died when it appeared in Aldi's! Weeeeee! No more paying over $3 a loaf!) ~ahem~ Moving on... Strawberries are not only attractive, they are also tasty part of complete breakfast. (note: Coffee at 2 o'clock position) 5 OP ( Old Points) for the whole shebang.

This lovliness held me over until about 1pm. After dropping Man Cub off at 'Afternoon School' I prepared this!

This is compliments of Gina at SkinnyTaste. The woman is a genius! Whooda thunk to put SALAD between fancy, delicious bread and call it a sammich? I've subbed zucchini for the cucumber because thats what I have on hand. My poor garden has had a rough time. My cucumbers are late. The tomato is mine. Dinky, but mine! It's been so DRY! Im finally getting some respectable sized ones. Last year, I could have carved them as pumpkins!

Anyway, if you are a fan of Greek Salad, you MUST make this!  The ciabatta splurge is worth it!!

Then my afternoon consisted of tracking down a cement truck ( never found IT , but found a million other toys)

I've gotten into the habit of walking to, at the very least, pick up Man Cub. It's about a 15 minute walk, one way, pushing the double stroller. I try to walk to drop him off, but sometimes we are short on time. I at least get 30 minutes of walking. It takes us past the 'Old House' and we admire the nice orange kitty that now lives there. That makes me happy. The front window is perfect for kitties.

And if you can believe it, I managed not to snack myself to death! I'm getting better about it. Instead I reach for water. It it's truly an emergency, a few pretzel twists ( not a few handfuls!) and a dark chocolate Hershey Kiss make the pain go away. Then I remember the grapes!  ( and I just remembered that I have peaches too!) Too late now...Having tea as I type.

I was at a loss as to what to make for dinner. Hubby is at work, so he's out. They had spaghetti last night, while I was at work...So, I started browsing SkinnyTaste. Shirmp, Peas and Rice jumped out at me. Man Cub and Varmint can eat rice and peas. Shrimp will keep Mommy from ransacking the kitchen later.

It was delicious! Here is the link. Simple and I had 90% of the ingredients. I subbed a cup of vegetable stock ( made from a boullion cube) for a cup of the Chicken broth, used brown rice and a bag of cooked, frozen shrimp. Pretty darned tasty! I can see even using frozen mixed vegetables in place of the peas for variety.

And no, except for tea, I have kept my grubby little paws out of the kitchen! I missed the Wednesday Weigh In. :( We will see what tomorrow brings. It's a long day. Man Cub has morning and afternoon school. Hubby is at work until Saturday afternoon . The Air Force Marathon is Saturday morning. He's on the Paramedic Bike team, so he's excited. They keep changing the forecast, but I think it's supposed to be nice weather.

It's late, but let me throw one more PSA out. My Fitness Pal is the SH*T! Anyone having issues with 'How many calories do i need ot eat?' " How many calories is THAT?" " Gosh, golly, gee whiz I wish I knew what the stats were for this piece of food so I can figure out Point values later!". this is for YOU. The iPhone app has a scan feature that will scan and record almost anything with a barcode. Recipie builder! Weight tracker! I know there are a few of us using it, so if you want know more, ask away!

Nighty night!

Is the My Fitness Pal an app?  Is is a weight watchers app or just an app that gives you general info and you can use it to get weight watchers points?  Thanks for sharing it was a good read!

Mmmm, your food looks great! I need to make your dinner when The Husband goes out of town, he doesn't like shrimp, but that looks good!

@ Connie- Yes, it's a FREE app. Not Weight Watchers related ( I force the union on my end. lol) It's an app but it's also accessible on the 'big computer'.

You can get the app for android too. I just started using it yesterday. Was kind of a long, PIB, process to put your food in but hopefully it'll grow on me.

The sammich looks super yummy, but for some reason the link didn't work for me. But I am still going to try surfing the net to see if I can find this site.

That Waffle House substitute looks crazy delicious and so healthy compared to WH! You did great with your choices and the shrimp/rice/peas combo is so easy. I think I would add more veggies or mixed veggies, too.
