No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
So, I can't believe something as simple as a dress has created such great motivation for me! My sister is getting married in November and I need a dress to wear, simple right? I was shopping with my daughter and I saw a couple of dresses I like so we went to the dressing room. As I began to change my daugher noticed that I was very uncomfortable and she says,"Mom you're not fat, why do you always think that?" My 7 year old read my body language and it broke my heart. I don't want my duaghter to struggle with body image and I realize that I am not being the mother I want to be. This was such a wake up call to me. So right then and there I decided enough is enough, I have all the necessary tools to be healthy, so there are no more excuses. I work out with Jillian Michales DVD's and she always says, you have to find you Why or the How is impossible. I have found my WHY!
I went shopping by myself a little while later and found the perfect dress, yes, but there was one problem the only size they had was a 10 and I need a 14. So, whats a girl to do, well buy the dress and blog about her journey to fit into it of course! So one week into my dress journey, I have stuck with my Weight Watchers target points, and gotten up every morning to complete my workouts. I feel so much better just one week in. I am going to post my starting stats and and every week I will weight and measure myself and post the results.
This weeks post is a little late, because my weight in date is Monday so my starting stats are from Monday Sept. 24, 2012.
Starting Weight 173.5
Bust: 38
Arms: 12
Waist: 32
Hips: 37
Thigh: 26
Calf: 14
Good job!
Since it's getting into October soon, if you don't lose all you want to fit into a size 10, maybe you can hunt around online for a 12? (if you have the brand etc)
Comment by Lynn on September 28, 2012 at 2:30pm Sounds like a great first week and I love your energy and enthusiasm, however, I'm with Keem on this one. I think I would have a backup ready. Just in case. Sometimes even though the pounds come off our bodies take a little longer to catch up. You can always save the dress you bought to wear at goal. :)
Comment by Connie D on September 28, 2012 at 6:13pm Oh, of course I have a back up dress at home! This dress just happened to be on clearance for a steal, I will wear it soon I hope!!
Comment by Cindy on September 28, 2012 at 11:01pm I think it's great that you are doing this both for yourself and for your daughter. I think part of my weight issues stem from my mom seeming to always be on a diet when she never even needed to be.
