Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

WOW - its been a while for sure.  July 9, 2016 to be exact.  Its been quite the ride.

Let me start by saying, dang I've missed you guys.  So I joined Weight Watchers last Monday.  Yup.  After a million years (not really) of trying it on my own, I came to the realization that I need to spend the money for the accountability.  Don't get me wrong.  I have learned a lot on my own and I have made a lot of changes in how I approach food.  I just haven't been making progress # wise.  Healthy wise, YES, but # wise no.  It was time.

My dear friend and I bit the bullet and joined together.  I promised her at minimum a 2 month commitment from me.  That turned into a 3 month commitment because of a deal they had going.  That doesn't mean I won't continue - it just means that I didn't want to make a commitment and leave my friend hanging if I couldn't continue for some reason or another.

So far the last 5 1/2 days have been successful.  I've just taken my paleo style along with my desire to eat clean and applied it to the points system.  I finally feel pretty good again about the direction I am heading in the journey to "finding beautiful".

A little bit about where I've been all this time.  Quite honestly, I felt like I was hanging out here alone some.  Then our family faced a lot of life struggle and change.

For starters, I changed jobs.  This shift - was a great move for me.  Only finding a new balance has been difficult.  Making time for myself has suffered a lot.  But I thinking I'm finally making some progress.

October, I finally had my gal bladder surgery.  Then two weeks later, my husband had what we thought was a heart attack, that was actually congestive heart failure.  He is doing better.   He had to wear a life vest (with a defibulator in it) for about 6 weeks.  Through medication and other changes, he is doing much better.

November, my father in law fell and broke his femur.  To say that a broken femur and an 84 year old doesn't mix - is an understatement.  His health declined very fast and on February 20th, he joined Jesus and found his place among the angels.

In January, I did complete a 5K and my first 10K in Disney.  Ran the 5K / walk-run the 10.  But I did it.  From July to about October I had maintained a 15# weight loss.  But its all back now.  Thus the move to WW last week.

Anyway - Hope this post finds you all well.

Hello LindaB. I was so dang happy to see you post. I have missed you. First, let me say how very sorry I was to hear of the passing of your father-in-law. Sending a prayer to your husband. That is scary stuff. Congrats on completing a 5k & a 10k. That is something you should be super proud of. I haven't signed up for any races this year yet. Glad the new job has worked out. I am looking forward to seeing more posts. Welcome back.

Thanks girl.  I almost forgot my password.  LOL

You are impressing me with your running.  I wish I had been as consistent as you have been.  I'da been able to run that entire 10K too.  Oh well.  I'm already signed up for next February's Disney Princess Run.  10K and 1/2 Marathon.  I've got a year to train for it.  We'll see how far I get.

My main goal right now is to become more consistent.  I want 2.5 miles to feel easy and then work my way up.

Welcome home, mama! So glad to see you back. And you know I'm a WW girl. (seriously, if you have any questions or need any tips, hit me up) I really do think their current program is the best yet and it lines up perfectly with clean eating. Can't wait to see you crush this!

@LindaB - I run but I am not a fast runner for sure. I keep working on it though. Are you going to do the 10k or go for the 1/2? I am not sure if I am ready to do a 1/2. Heck a 10k kicks my tail!! For now I work on consistency so I can continue to keep the weight I have lost well lost.

Thanks Christy.  -- I really had a great week of learning to navigate.  Its been fun and refreshing.  I did think of you when I joined last week.  Probably what prompted me to get on here - because I missed ya all.
