No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Reflect, Assess, Adjust
Where did I do some good or make some progress today?
I met my exercise goals, even though I was feeling kind of lazy earlier in the day. In addition to my activity goals, I did a fair amount of yard work and rode my bike too.
Where did I let myself or others down?
I went over my calories again today. Everything was tracked. What I did to compensate was to do exercise to make up the difference and "earn" calories on Fitbit, which is linked to My Fitness Pal. I ended up earning 23 very active minutes and a surplus of over 200 calories. Going forward, if I overeat calories I will earn calories from exercise to break even. I do not want to exceed my calories but this exercise solution brings some balance.
What can I do to keep my good habits going?
I have been looking for low impact exercises that I can add to my routine so it won't get boring in the future. I stumbled upon a nice video series on YouTube called Fitness Blender. They have a website too http://www.fitnessblender.com/.
What can I do to address any negative triggers or trends before they get out of hand?
I over ate because I was bored. I told myself it was okay to "relax" but I ended up feeling bored and eating too much, even though the food was on plan. No food is healthy if I eat too much of it. The offending food was Quest protein bars, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, which I realize is too sweet and feels like eating candy. They are in the freezer now and may need to go in the trash, as I went to the freezer to get one to eat after I put them in the freezer. I have had these before but today they became a trigger food, so no more. Funny, those bars have been a help to have at work or in my purse when I am out to keep me from making bad food choices.
I have never actually read up on what to do when you are bored to prevent overeating but I will. I will continue tracking everything and I am posting this quote on the refrigerator:
