No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I really dislike the countdown attitude of work. I start on Monday and at the end of the day I'm just like 'whew, just 4 more days. Then Tuesday, etc. It's the same every week. To top it off, I had a bad day at work. It seems like too many student were getting on my nerves for one thing or another. The 'one thing or another' was probably just that it was Monday. HA!

I ate well and didn't plan on the gym today since my entire body is pretty sore from the pole fitness and then spinning and biking yesterday. But I was feeling a little tense from the day and went and did cardio for just 45 minutes and felt better. Then we had play rehearsal which I'm pretty excited about. My husband has started a small community theater group and I've got a decent role in the play. I really love acting. It has always brought a more creative side of me and it's so much fun!

I'm beat now and I think I'm going to try and go to bed early.

Whew, just FOUR more days until the weekend! ;)

Happy Monday......

Oh man, I was the worst about counting down the days! Last year, I was pregnant and due in May (so almost the end of the school year anyway) but I had a countdown from 60 days out. I also always had a horrible case of the Sunday Night blues, knowing I had to get up for work the next day.

I do the work week countdown too!!

That's very cool that you have a role in your husband's play. Sounds like fun!

Sometimes that countdown attitude is our clue that something needs to change if we want to be happy...maybe a new job....maybe doing the job differently/altering things....

Perhaps introspection will lead you to the answer so you can have your happiness. :)

BTW-Congrats on the play--you'll have a blast! :)  (Except during tech week--then you'll be a walking zombie and your students had better steer clear big time!)

I am right there with you one the work week countdown. I am so busy at work lately. They just piled the work on and that leads to too many late work nights that frankly puts Paula in a cranky mood. The theater? I am so glad you've found an artistic outlet. I've been searching for one myself, but work seems to drain the life right out of me! So what play is your group doing?

@Keem - precisely. This is why I am not returning next school year.

@Paula - We are doing is Woman in Mind by Alan Ayckbourn. It is a crazy dark comiedy. I started acting in my husband's community theater shows a long time ago. It's a fun group of cool people and it is really something I need right now to keep me sane - even though the play is, um, not so sane! Makes me feel normal. :)

I meant to also write that I haven't acted in a show for about 3 years now and so I'm even more excited!

Good for you on working out to get rid of the stress when you hadn't planned on it!  The play sounds fun!  My oldest daughter has been in a few, and it had been such a great experience.  She didn't join drama this year because she does not like to sing in front of people. She choose dance team this year which is also lots of fun!!!

I didn't know you had a love for acting and theater! That is awesome. I am so happy to hear you're engaged in something that gives you energy, to counteract the school day which drains you. I know how you feel- I detest my own job, just because it's boring. On Saturdays, I do two community service things I love- I'm busy all day and I love it, even though it shortens my weekend. The day I can do my Saturday work for a paycheck, will be a very happy day! I hope you will also one day find work that makes a countdown unnecessary. Maybe it's time for you to teach teachers, do something more at the coaching or management level?
