Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I didn't post at all last week, though I was around in the comments. I don't want to let another week get away without posting. Right now I am maintaining but I feel if I stick with what I'm doing, and especially if I increase my efforts, I will see a loss. I feel different, and clothes are fitting a bit better.

On my diet, I am working hard to veggies into my system every day. That may seem like a light goal, but I'm someone who until Jan 2011, hardly EVER ate veggies. I'm not yet striving for five, but I am committed to eating veggies as at least a side if not a meal every day. I don't want a day to go by where my cells don't get what they need to support me.

I am also surprisingly having *mostly* success with avoiding sweets. You may recall I had a MAJOR sweets relapse over the holidays. Every time I want a sweet, I remind myself that if I ignore it, the feeling will pass and next time it will be easier to avoid it. And its working. Now I'm not perfect. On Sunday I went to an event and ate mini peanut butter cookies. I ate too many, but not as many as I would have had I been home alone with them! Social pressure can work for the good sometimes- I didn't want to look like glutton!

I'm working on building up my running mileage to meet my 1000 miles in 2013 goals. I'm up to 12 per week, and I need to be at 25 per week by the first week in March. I might run a little late, but I'll definitely be at 20 per week by then.

So far I've managed to walk once per week. I need to get to 6! At the moment, I'll be proud of myself for getting to 3 times per week.

I need to step it up a bit but I'm not crashing out, and at the moment, I'm happy with that! Things got scary over the holidays, I was worried I was about to totally wash out. Thank goodness for BTL, though I don't post a ton (I do try for at least once per week), I read constantly and it helps the flame of motivation from blowing completely out- sometimes I really need that! Other times, it's just a great place to get good ideas and share strategies. This is a great community!

I am trying to get those veggies in. Prior to January I could go days (maybe even weeks) without eating veggies. They are not my favorite, but I am finding that I like them more than I did.

I like raw veggies more so than cooked.  Have you tried the little mini sweet peppers.  Ohhhhh soooo good!  Virtually seedless and make a great snack.

Glad  you enjoyed the cookies, but, exercised control. :)

A serving of veg isn't giant, so maybe eating 5 isn't a big deal? (Plus things like pasta sauces and some soups count as veg)

Love your goals!  Veggies and mileage--those two will take you far and make you feel great.

You seem to be doing great. One way I get veggies in is to make a tossed salad for lunch a few times a week. Put all kinds of goodies in. I cheat and buy some already cut up veggies to make it easier. Still cheaper than take out!
