Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Today started off on a high note! I got a 6:30 AM text that told me I didn't have to get get to work until 9:00 instead of 7:45. This was great, since it was a rainy dreary morning, and sleeping in was perfect for me. Levi also took advantage of a little extra time in bed by giving me some doggie cuddles. The weekend was great with a 2.2 loss on Saturday, some gym time, catching up with some old friends, and also getting things done around the house. I went to dinner last night with a couple of girlfriends. I saved half of my calories for our Mexican dinner and was quite proud of myself for ordering a taco salad without the fried shell. I did get dessert (churros) but only ate half and then brought the rest home for Eric. I went to bad last night feeling accomplished and healthy.

This morning I'm back to a regular work week and had to figure out how I was going to stay on the healthy wagon, particularly during nap time. Well this is my trick. I'm writing rather than stuffing my face with the chips and cookies that fill the pantry. This morning for breakfast I ate my new favorite,  a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and 1/4 cup Bear Naked Fit granola. It leaves me full and satisfied. The granola is fairly low in sugar and calories but still makes me feel like I'm getting a treat.

For lunch today

A Whole Wheat English Muffin, with tuna salad a tomato and lettuce fresh from Eric's garden! I also included some broccoli and cucumbers that I got last night at the grocery store. The heads of broccoli were disgusting last night, and the pre-cut bagged broccoli was on sale so I thought I'd give it a shot. While I'm not a huge believer in buying pre-cut vegetables because they are usually more expensive, and I don't mind cutting my own I will admit it was nice to just open the bag and throw in the pieces this morning. I dipped the veggies in light ranch dressing. I'm not usually a stickler on particular brands, but when it comes to light or non-fat ranch dressing I only use Hidden Valley Light. It's my favorite.

After I put Hailey down for a nap, I decided that I would enjoy some Pirates Booty and playing online.

This definitely has provided a welcome distraction from the food in the fridge. It also gives me something else to do besides watch TV. I'm feeling pretty positive and hoping to get to the gym tonight to tackly C25K Week 1 Day 2. I have done this before and have no real trouble completing Week 1 and Week 2, it's Week 3 that usually trips me up. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some positive results!

Great job having the Pirates Booty portioned out in the ziploc.  I swear the bags they sell that stuff in just throw the food directly into my mouth!
