No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
OK, so this is my first attempt blogging here on Blog to Lose. I hope it crosses over to my home blog. If not, I guess either I'm going to get good at copy/paste or I'm going to wind up abandoning the other blog as I had considered anyway.
In my attempt to get up from my fallen position, I believe I did pretty well today. I put nothing in my mouth that I'd be ashamed of today. I haven't gone so far as to log my food intake for nutritive purposes. I could, but it can be quite tedious and that's a habit for another day.
I haven't exercised. I know. I know, but hear me out. My excuse this week is that my hip is killing me. As a hip replacement patient, I have to be cautious about the activities I do anyway and over the last 2 weeks I've been experiencing increased pain. Doctor's orders: lay off the weight bearing activities. Yes, that's my excuse today.
I've got my meals for the most part planned for tomorrow. With the exception of dinner, I think I've got a plan. Let's hope I can stick with it.
Just work on mastering your eating first and don't worry about the exercise-or lack of.
You can always incorporate some stuff later on. Water-typs stuff might suit you?
Comment by Almost There on November 22, 2011 at 10:37am Sorry to hear about the hip pain. That is not what you want out of a hip replacement! I hope the rest takes care of that, and quickly! If not, you should start calling more doctors.
Comment by Dawn E on November 22, 2011 at 7:39pm Thanks for the words of encouragement everyone. My hip surgery was more than 10 years ago. I have a history of dislocating the darn thing. Tests show the prosthesis is OK, so doctors don't really want to do anything about it. I just have to watch what I do and about once a year or so I get pain. Talked to the nurse a week ago who thinks I may have irritated something during my balance exercises and caused a bursitis. I'm not shedding any tears about not being able to do a lot of weight bearing exercises.
I've done the water based stuff and have found my niche in the form of something called Egoscue (a cross between yoga, pilates and some qi gong like movements). For cardio I do stairs in bursts-probably only about 5 minutes worth at a time several times a day. All of which is on hiatus right now. Pain is getting better but I don't want to re-aggrevate
