Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Wow, I had a great workout this morning.  I will start out by saying I hate, hate, hate cardio.  I am one of those weird women who prefers to lift weights or do circuit training with short cardio bursts, but I know that I need to rest said muscles so I make myself do two cardio only workouts per week.  I dred Wednesday and Saturdays becuase they are the cardio days.  I even have a hard time falling asleep on Tuesday nights because I am thinking about waking up on Wednesday to complete my cardio workout.  Now that you know how terribly much I hate cardio maybe you will understand my pleasant surprise this morning.  I drug myself out of bed this morning to workout and decided I am up lets do it, and I did. I worked out with great intensity and much harder then normal; if I am out of bed I might as well make it worth my while.  I kind of enjoyed my workout and I felt really strong this morning. Three weeks in and I feel stronger today; today is the first time I have noticed more cardio endurance and it excites me.  I am not quite so worried about Saturday now.  Maybe I am turning over a new leaf; I sure hope so!  Happy Hump  Day ya'll!!!

It is funny how our tastes change be it food or activities. I bought Insanity and when I first got it I thought this cardio workout is too much. Now that I am at the end, I realize intense cardio workouts are not so bad. So congrats on your NSV. Keep them coming.

I have the philosophy that cardio comes in many forms. Anything that raises your heartrate counts.  Not just aerobics etc.  Lunges and squats with weights raise your heartrate.  There are many things you can do during a weight workout that will help raise it and you'll be killing two birds with one stone. :P
