Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

No, it really is.  I didn’t get on it this morning and see a weight I didn’t like, the darn thing just didn’t show ANYTHING. And, that, I think says a lot.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the 3 pounds I gained over the Holidays and  it was really bothering me.  I wanted to weigh myself to see if I had lost at least 2 of the 3 – but the scale had a different story for me to hear.  (And why do Ilet 3 pounds matter so much when I have another 80 to lose?)

It was all about telling me to stop worrying about those numbers and  to carry on with what I was doing- getting back on track and working out.  To stop worrying about NUMBERS and  keep my goals in mind.   I know my jeans are fitting better, and I’m able to do more than I was before!  I went for a mile long walk in the snowstorm we had the other day with my snow boots on  with no problem.   I shoveled the driveway without a break.   I reach for veggies rather than crap (ok, so there is not crap in the house, but that’s it’s own victory).  I cook healthy dinners as a rule now.  We eat meatless at least once a week.

So I’m going to  STOP thinking about that scale- in fact- GASP- I’m getting rid of it.   There is a scale at my gym if I need to weigh in.   I’m going to think that all these changes I’m making are a lot more than just numbers on the scale and  kick some more butt.  I have a pair of jeans I’m wanting to get into.  That’s what I’m working for!

Easier said than done.  I have numbers hovering over me, too. I also think I should just relax a bit but it's hard not to obsess a little.

Good luck w/those jeans!

Speaking from experience, it was the fact that my clothes were fitting better that kept me going when the scale didn't show any progress. I am a very SLOW loser. It took a while, but the scale did catch up. I don't have crap in the house either. That way I can't get side tracked.
