No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Well, I completed my first 5k. I finished in 46 min 10 seconds. I was super slow. I was a little upset by this, but then I had to remind myself that I didn't stop running. Others stopped and walked, and while they eventually passed me when they started running again, I actually went the distance by running the whole time. There were five not-so-great hills to run up during the race. The first was a 20 ft. increase, then back down, the second was a 50 ft. increase, then back down to an immediate third hill that was a 40 ft. increase, then back down to the fourth hill, which was a 20 ft. increase, then back down to the final 5th hill, which was a 30 ft. increase. There was a guy there who finished in fifteen minutes. It was crazy. I was not the last person to finish, which was my other, secret goal that I didn't want to admit to anyone.
My eating this weekend was not so great though. Friday night was not so bad: I had an apple/walnut/goat cheese salad with apple cider vinaigrette, a bowl of tikka masala soup, and 1/2 serving of the restaurant's homemade steak fries. Then hubby and I shared a small dessert of irish bread pudding. Saturday was the awful meal day. Mostly because I couldn't say no when with my friend. She does not control her food intake so it's a lot harder for me to eat around her if I haven't planned out my food, which I had not.
Today, I'm wanting to stay in my calorie range, even though I have a bonfire/hay ride to go to with friends and it is a potluck dinner. I will just be careful of my food choices and stick to my plan:
B: coffee w/sugar free cocoa mix stirred together; 1 scrambled egg
L: 1 beef taco with rice and beans; chips and salsa (13 chips w/salsa)
D: 1 hot dog, no bun; 1 mini corn on the cob; salad or other veggies if there are any; 2 smore's (TOPS--I love smore's so this will be a challenge)! and apple cider or hot chocolate if any is available.
I'm off to plan my meals this week--I've gotten out of the habit and I really feel that my eating is what will make or break my weight loss. I just need to be better about putting my health FIRST. Hope everyone has a good day!
Congrats on completing your first 5K. That is no small feat girlfriend. You are doing so great.
