No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
That's what I huffed today to my husband on my run. Or did I wheeze it? Same difference: I felt like my run SUCKED today. But I had to tell myself two things were different on this run: I went on a different route this time, one that had a few hills, even though they were SUPER little; also, I ran faster today than I have before. But I had to walk twice. Hubby says I only walked for less than a minute, but I was so frustrated!!
I have also been frustrated at work. I have been put on 3 committees, I coach a sport (whose season is nearly 7 months long), and I'm in charge of both homecomings. On top of that, I tutor after school, I'm a mentor teacher for a new teacher, and I have three cadet teachers in my classroom. Oh, and did I mention that I have 5 different classes I teach? Yeah. So that's 5 separate lesson plans every day.
I'm just overly tired and it's never ending! But Saturday is going to be MY day. I'm going running in the town I will do my first 5k (to get used to the course), I am going to buy some new bras, I'm going to try to get my hair trimmed, and see if I can fit in a massage. :) ME time.
Hope you all are having great weeks! For those who, like me, feel overwhelmed right now: BIG HUGS. It DOES get better.
Comment by Chelsea Christie on October 4, 2012 at 10:03pm Wow! It sounds like you are keeping BUSY! So how do you handle your time management and fit running in too?
Comment by Jill Mace on October 4, 2012 at 11:21pm I got tired reading about ALL you had on your plate! I am glad you are taking a ME day on Saturday! About being tired on the run... I have never understood this myself, but there are days when I am sluggish in my workout or I can't do what I did the last workout- there are so many explanations- hours of sleep, what you ate the day before, stress.... I try to focus on the fact that at least I worked out- even if it was not up to par!!!
Comment by Cindy on October 4, 2012 at 11:36pm I just wanted to scream reading everything you have going on! Sometimes I think that life should just not be like this - so stressful and so full of so much work, work, work. BUT you did great going for a run and hills are no small feat! I hope it relieved some of your stress. Teaching 5 preps should be against the law! We need to open our own school! Hugs to you. Tomorrow is Friday and I know you will enjoy every minute of your awesome ME Saturday you have planned!! You deserve it!
And I thought I was overwhelmed?? OMG, I am a whimp. Thanks for helping me keep it in perspective. I have no excuses now to just give up!
So wonderful that you have an impact on so many young lives! :)
Comment by Dee on October 5, 2012 at 2:05pm That is too much work. But every teacher I know, some on BTL, some In Real Life, has schedules like this. I really don't think it's right. I believe in work life balance, but it seems impossible in schools. I'd vote for the president that would double the teaching force, creating more jobs as well as more sanity for existing teachers. At any rate, I'm glad you are scheduling in some good me-time- very smart move.
