No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
In the morning I'm going to get up early & work out & conquer the world!!! .....aaaand then my alarm goes off and I have absolutely NO motivation to get up, thus hitting the snooze button and awakening an hour later, not being able to get a workout in before I begin my long day :( I don't know why I do this! I feel so motivated before I go to sleep, promising myself that I will get up to workout early, and then I just can't do it when the time comes. My schedule is hectic most days and if I don't get my workout in the morning, by the time 9pm comes around and I'm off work I have not one ounce of energy to put into a workout. Any suggestions?? How can I motivate myself and just do it, even though I'm tired?
Comment by Almost There on August 16, 2012 at 11:22am It IS rough to drag yourself outta bed in the morning. Especially when it is the world that you are planning to conquer. Perhaps you can toss in a quick 5-10 minute routine before you hop into bed. I know it is not much--but then you have the option when the alarm goes off in the morning--and that may be enough to make it seem like not such a big deal to roll outta bed for another quick workout before you start your day for real. You can find some really awesome stretching, toning and relaxation type workouts online. Baby steps! You can do this!
Comment by Lynette S on August 16, 2012 at 11:45am No advice here, I feel the same way lately, I used to get up and get my runs in before the sun came up, felt great, slept great, and was never that tired for getting up so early. Now, my alarm goes off, I hit sleep. GAH! Lately, I'm cutting myself some slack, hitting the gym later and trying to work up my endurance. I figure I'll attempt the outdoor morning runs again soon.

Comment by Karissa Kroblen on August 16, 2012 at 4:11pm Haha I definitely need to do baby steps...maybe just getting up 5-10 minutes earlier than normal to get a quick quick workout in? Then gradually increase the time..? Hmm Lynette I wish I could be like that! I wonder what changed that made you lose that motivation? I think it really does come down to endurance. I need to build mine up too and I will surely let you in on the magic elixir ;P
Hmm a reward would be nice, as long as it's not food :/ or is it bad to have a food reward like a puppy? lol
I agree about the baby steps--plus, when you do it first thing, no excuses prevent you from doing it like they would later in the day!
