No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I love, love, love the post from Roni today. How does she know just what I need to hear? Not long ago, I posted about embracing her mantra of "I'm IN!" I have done better about taking on new challenges and not letting my size or appearance dictate what I am willing to try. Her post (and the article she linked to) today really rang true for me. I have about 1,546,294,345 pictures of my 9 month old son and I am in probably less than 20 of them. My husband gets so tired of me saying "I'm not in that one am I?" or vetoing pictures that he loves because I don't like the way I look in them. The truth is--this is me. This is what I look like. This is a moment in time. I will not always look like this...but neither will my son. I want to capture these memories. Life does wait. I'm ready to live the life I have NOW.
Comment by Jessica on February 15, 2013 at 3:38pm I finally caved, after YEARS of not wanting to do a family portrait, simply because " Im still too fat"
We did one this past Christmas and everyone loved it. ( I'm still 'too fat', but whose fault is that?)
When you're the one taking the pictures, it's common not to be in many. Sometimes, I have to ask my husband to take some with me in them. I used to get annoyed at him because he didn't offer--and then I figured if I want to be in some, it was my responsibility to make it known.
I agree-even if we don't look perfect, it's a snapshot of the present day--one that we can look back upon and see how far we've gotten. :)
Comment by Christy on February 16, 2013 at 9:09am My husband takes most of the pics and tries to get me in them. I try to stay out of them most of the time.
Comment by Cindy on February 17, 2013 at 8:36pm I loved that post also and it really hit home. Capture those moments with your family right NOW!
