Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

No, I didn't have the Reese's PB cups while checking out of BB and Beyond today. I opted for a Skinny Cow (such a WEIRD psycho brand name if you ask me) wafer something or other. I feel guilty coming on here and just posting and leaving but it has been a lllooonnnngggg day. I had some shopping to do and a few errands to run. I LOVE BB and Beyond! It's one of my all-time favorite stores and I miss it. I managed to escape with just a few items so I'm pretty proud of myself. The gadgets they have are just too much (in price, quality, everything) but I did buy these little salad dressing dispensers that fit 2 ounces of dressing and have a guarantee leak-proof spout. I also tried to buy some clothes and managed only one pair of jeans and one t-shirt. I have had it with Marshall's, Ross and places like that. Is it just me or have their clothes just gotten so cheaply made they just aren't worth any money at all?

The gym I signed up at for a week said that we had to sign up for classes if we wanted a guaranteed spot. I don't get how it works but they said you have to go an hour before and sign up. I wanted to do spinning and rather than ask where the logic was in their system I made a special trip to sign up for spinning. Oh, but there was no list for spinning because it never fills up. OK, whatever. So, I left to do a little more shopping and came back. Spinning was great! BUT O.M.G. when I was leaving class I saw a line literally almost out the door of the gym. There must have been 100 people in line all holding little orange passes that said 'Zumba'! I thought some freaking celebrity was in the gym but, nope, they were just all lined up to take an exercise class. I think I experienced reverse culture shock. lol

We met some old friends for dinner and I had 2 glasses of wine, half of a delicious black bean burger and some really healthy tasting potato salad (not so maynaissy at all). I ate some chips but did not eat the spinach dip they ordered with it. I felt in control. Tomorrow we're meeting some other friends at the beach to ride bikes along the seawall and I cannot wait!

I'm hoping my parents get their Internet fixed soon so I can check in to see how everyone is doing! I miss y'all!!

I like that if you buy it and don't like it, they take it back no questions asked-even if it looks used. :)

A couple years ago I was obsessed with Zumba, so I can understand the line out the door!  Right now I'm just getting back to exercise so it's been mostly walking & elliptical machine.  You should totally try the Zumba class!  I love BB & Beyond too!  I love kitchen gadgets, but even more than that I love specialty and gourmet grocery stores!

I hate how the discount stores have filled up with the cheap crap too.  It used to be that those stores had much less inventory--but what they had was good stuff.  Now I'm not even sure that they ever get good stuff.  The same with Nordstrom's Rack.  I hate that the racks are so crammed that you can't even see what is there!  I know that lots of people on here complain about Old Navy--but I swear I get the best shorts and jeans there.  The t-shirts and other stuff tend to fall apart but can be super cute while they last.  I just wait for sales and clearance.

Glad you won't have to waste time just waiting around for spin class.  Any hot instructors?  Gotta go--sunburnt kid needs me.

You have done soooo great!  A small, in-control snack while shopping, going to exercise at the gym, eating in control while dining out AND with friends, sticking to two glasses of wine---I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!  Plus, all this while dealing with family who can be less than supportive.  You are amazing!

I love BBB too! I have to stay away because I will totally fall for even the silliest of gadgets. You are doing great on your vacation- hitting the gym and watching what you eat while still enjoying yourself. Bravo, Cindy!

I tried the Skinny Cow candy/snack bars and for 100 calories they are not bad. I've been wanting to try the ice cream sandwiches I've seen, but I know I just got to stay the heck out of the junk food!!
