No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I am celebrating this morning. I am glad to be alive. Sometimes when we all get wound up in the world and it's happenings, we forget to enjoy the simple, every day, little things. I want to enjoy all of them! My family may know a bit more than some to appreciate those mundane happenings that most just let fly by. Anyway, appreciate them, stop long enough to give a hug. Stop long enough to notice when someone else is feeling glum. Put on a Happy Face and smile at someone today! (yes, even if you don't exactly feel like it.) You might be surprised what you see! Or hear. Or what you get to enjoy when you notice it is there. It takes no money either, so bonus!
Yes, I am talking to myself as well as to you. I too forget sometimes. Coming here to this Blog is helping a lot, however. Just knowing I am not alone in this battle to find the better me is daunting, to say the least. Changing small habits will be the way I get there. Not giving up when stressed will be number one on my list. Starting over right the moment I fall off, not using it as an excuse to give up entirely. I have done THAT enough times in my Life! Haven't we all? That is how I got here in the first place. Weighing in at 238 lbs yesterday morning. Ew! I don't even like to put that down on paper. It is 7:25 on a Saturday morning and my dear husband just asked "Is anyone going to eat this upside down cake?" I did not answer. Our grandson is staying with us and he is trying to cut down on how much sugar he eats. Poor thing! He is 7! He is skinny as a rail, but we have all been way too indulgent on the treats thing. His Mom was trying to get him to cut back and said something about cavities. Now he is absorbed in worrying. Anyway, my point is that I don't want the cake and he doesn't want the cake. Apparently dear hubby does not want it either. So, THROW IT AWAY gets MY Vote! I have not had breakfast, but for some reason, today that cake does not call to me. Hummm.....that can only be a good thing!
I need to get going. Shower calling me and a trip to town. Have a great Day All!

Comment by Honeybun on March 2, 2013 at 8:57am I agree, a positive attitude is key to many things in our lives. When I'm down, just humming or whistling a bit can snap me out of it. Putting on that happy face can be contagious, too, especially on Monday morning! An attitude of gratitude is another key, I try to remind myself of the fact that "at least I have a job to go to on this glorious and wonderful Monday morning..." :)
Maybe she shouldn't focus on his sugar intake if it's about cavities-maybe he just needs to learn how to brush and floss better/more often. :P
Comment by Kathy Jo Foote on March 7, 2013 at 1:19am It is not really about the cavities. You see, they told Hunter about how sugar sits on the teeth longer than other foods. He is a good tooth brusher and has been doing a good job since he was able to stand up to the sink and brush. My point was that grandma and grandpa have to change our ways. And we have. I have since lost some weight and that bloat that feels so icky. Thanks, however, for your concern! It really helps! Now our plan is to have fresh fruits for him instead of the sugary foods. Live and learn, eh? lol.
