No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Sorry for being gone a few days everyone. Honestly, I was running out of pain medicine for my broken arm and I was trying to conserve them so I'd have some on vacation, and I was hurting, grumpy, and tired so I just didn't get to posting.
Sunday was weigh in and official weigh in was 188.2. Slowly but surely. We got on the plane for FL at 7am this morning and we were here by 1pm. I have two goals for my eating while here: no FRIED foods (esp. french fries--I am soooo over those!) and only eat when I'm hungry until I am full (even if that means leaving a full plate).
I already broke one of my rules this evening by having 1/2 c. of ice cream with hubby. I wasn't hungry. BUT I only had 1/2 c. So, I will take this as a learning opportunity: yes your stomach is uncomfortably full. It's because you ate when you weren't hungry!
We have walked the beach, swam, and are now out on the balcony enjoying the fantastic weather. It is cooler here than in MO where we live!!
Here's the meal plan from today:
B: chocolate glazed cake donut from Dunkin' Donuts in the airport. DD was the only restaurant in the vicinity of the gate we were at and I opted for a single cake donut instead of a breakfast sandwich or wrap. I'm not sure if it was lower calorie or a better choice, but it did hold me over until lunch. Also, had a Diet Coke on the plane ride.
L: margarita (owning up to it), and a blackened chicken salad with ranch dressing. The waitress suggested making the blackened chicken into a salad instead of the blackened chicken sandwich (no bun) with side salad that I ordered. Made sense to me!
D: 1/2 hawaiian bread bun sandwich (using smoked turkey and 1 slice gouda cheese); handful of Cheez Doodles (my overly processed treat that I can only find in FL). And of course the dreaded 1/2 c. mint chocolate chip I mentioned earlier. Darn the temptation!
Tomorrow we have a full day of sitting on the beach and swimming in the many pools we have access to here at the resort. :) In the past, we've had our own cabana boy. Not sure if they still do that this year though.
Here's a pic of the sunset from our balcony:
1/2 cup of ice cream is no big deal--I'm sure it was ony like 200 calories at most-so your whole day isn't blown because of it.
As for the donut choice--look up the nutritional info on it. I think the donut is around 300 calories and maybe 15 grams of fat? The sandwiches would probably depend upon which you chose. Knowledge is power so if you look up that info, you'll know next time what the wisest choice is. :)
Comment by Brandy on July 31, 2012 at 12:59pm Yeah, helps if I could have gotten reception on my iPhone in the terminal, but I think they were blocking out the signals or something because I couldn't get anything on my 3G! I checked online after I got to the hotel and I didn't do too bad--the only sandwich lower in points was a flatbread wrap. And honestly I wouldn't have been able to tell that by looking on the menu. Can't wait until it becomes mandatory to post nutritional info on menus!!
Comment by Dee on July 31, 2012 at 1:34pm Great step turning the sandwich into a salad. I'm trying to follow that tip myself!
