No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I'm finished with the 3rd week of this Eat to Live pgm and preparing to enter the 4th. Actually, the first 6 weeks is the same, but it feels like a bit of a count down to me until I can expand the restrictions a bit.
I'm still feeling really good and man do I have a lot of energy. I'm getting things done around my house I've been putting off for years!
I was a little disappointed with my weekly weigh in to find I hadn't lost any weight this week. In review, the only thing I can see is that I ate some things that had a larger amount of salt that I probably should have had. Other than that, I've been faithful to the plan. OH-I did stray last night and had a small vanilla ice cream cone as a treat. Dr. Fuhrman says that as long as you eat the plan 90%, you're good so I didn't feel too guilty. Probably should ramp up the salads.
I'll be on vacation with my non-supportive husband this week. My mind is churning with plans to face this. Our camper refrigerator is not large enough to hold that much produce so either I'm going to have to make extra trips to the local grocery or I'm going to have to find another way to make this work. Suggestions?
Hang in there. I'm sure next week will show a loss. Just how it rolls sometimes! :)
As for making things work, I'm not sure what kind of food is on your eating program, but, maybe canned fruits and veggies? Or dehydrated?

It is a good time to vacation. Lots of farmer's markets so you might be able to pick up some goodies while you're away from home. Maybe you could bring some canned veggies and fruits. I know it isn't fresh, but it is better than processed stuff.
Comment by Dawn E on July 25, 2012 at 11:51am Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I guess I wasn't clear. My family and I are camping. I have limited access to shopping, internet, etc. My camper's refrigerator has limited space, but I seem to be making due. I've stayed faithful to Eat to Live except for 1 meal a day where I allow myself to eat what my family is having within reason. I've been adding a salad or some other fresh vegetable or fruit on those occasions.
Dr. Fuhrman doesn't really encourage canned goods other than maybe canned tomato for use in soups or recipes. Fresh is best and I'm doing the best I can with the environment (and people) I'm faced with.
I have found a very interesting thing: I cannot really tolerate salad dressings, or any other sauce in even moderate quantity. It seems to be drowning the real flavor of the food and I can't stand it. When I read that in Dr. Fuhrman's book, I had only hoped to reach that point and here I am 4 wks later and here it is. We went to a restaurant for dinner a few nights ago. I ordered a stir fry meal with a salad on the side. I thought I'd have a little vinaigrette. WRONG! My salad felt like it was drowning in weird, sweet oil. Same thing with the stir fry. The restaurant put a teriaki sauce on the stir fry, but man did it feel like I was eating sauce without anything else. I wished so badly I would just "wring" it out or wipe it off but of course it was just everywhere.
I don't expect to see much, if any, weight loss this week since I'm not as faithful as I should be. I'll be satisfied with holding steady. Still feeling good, but have noticed that if I'm not careful my reflux tries to rear its ugly head. I assume it's because I've allowed some of the indulgences (above).
