No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Final post in this "series". Thank you all for your interest and comments! Writing about this is helping me to solidify in my head what my goals are.
I hope this 90-day stretch can be as successful as my 30-day sugar free experiment- I was highly motivated then. I feel about 70% as motivated now, but that's way more motivation than I've been feeling for months.
Rule 10: One acceptable treat
This acceptable treat is included even during the opt-out period. She advises something low in sugar, around 150 calories. Any treat like that, that you enjoy. Perhaps a cake sliver, two (small) cookies, or a pudding cup. I'm glad she includes this- I keep trying to "eliminate all sweets!" since I know it's a problem for me- Keem and others have pointed out the "binge factor" in the all or nothing approach. By knowing and planning on my one acceptable treat- acceptable being the magic word- I will probably have more success at keeping my overall sugar consumption down.
Excerpt:
What makes a treat acceptable?
So this concludes the close-up on the rules folks expressed interest in. I start this new leg of my journey today: Sept. 2. Why Sept. 2? Because I knew I was going on a brunch cruise on Sept. 1 and I didn't want to set myself up... LOL!
On Sept. 2 I am also going to brunch, but I chose a vegan restaurant which will help me make the kind of choices I want to start making. And learn new foods to love!
So glad you're not doing an all-or-nothing! :)
How was the vegan restaurant?
Thanks so much for sharing! You've helped me with ideas for my 60 day challenge. So do you chose 1 acceptable treat every day? Tell us all about the vegan restaurant. I wish I had one in my area.
Comment by Lynette S on September 5, 2012 at 11:25am I think this is a great idea, especially since I love my sweet snack after dinner!
