No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
TGIF. It's been a long week. I was successful with doing Insanity and keeping calories in check. Commuting to work this morning I realized a few things. Diet is key. I mean I kept exercising even though my diet was less than stellar. I think I would have gained more weight if I had not been, but keeping up with a healthy diet is 80-90% of the key to losing weight. So I have to really put as much effort into diet as I do exercise if not more if I am going to be successful. One thing I have to work on is cutting down of fat be it oils, veggies (avocado), dairy, nuts as I believe the saying "the fat you eat is the fat you wear." With a few small changes I think I can get this figured out. I hope to start posting losses really soon.
Comment by Dee on August 24, 2012 at 8:31pm I know you, and all of us, will ultimately be successful! It's definitely a matter of tinkering til you figure out how to make that shift. Funny, I too was JUST today, while in the car, musing over how essential diet is! Like you, I've been pretty on-point since 2011 with my exercise, even expanding my regimen. But only when I eat well, like you say, 80-90%, do the pounds come off. Diet diet diet. Damn... but we can do it. It is so worth it. Balance definitely takes time!
Comment by Lynette S on August 25, 2012 at 12:54am I read somewhere that it 90% what you put in your mouth. Ugh, it's so hard, but really, it will be a reward in the end.
Comment by Cindy on August 25, 2012 at 1:42am I know what you mean about the diet. I'm mostly on auto pilot for exercise but the food is such a chore sometimes. Dee is right! We'll get there!
Comment by Jill Mace on August 25, 2012 at 3:22am I agree about the diet part. When I had surgery and could not exercise- I had to rein in my eating- but I did not gain weight. What I do notice though about exercise is how I like how I look better toned. That is what the strength training does. But for those of us who need to weigh less- I agree that it more important to focus on the calories in and where we are getting those calories from.
Comment by Brandy on August 25, 2012 at 11:30am I hear you. Once my hubby has been back in town, my eating has not been as in control. But it's so important. There is no way I can ever exercise enough to work off the extra calories!
Comment by Almost There on August 25, 2012 at 8:20pm Make sure you don't cut ALL the fat out of your diet. Healthy brains need a bit of fat to keep them running right.
