No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Weighed in and I am still at the same weight I was 5 weeks ago. So now I know I need to really review my diet. The only way to lose weight is diet. I keep wishing that exercise would provide that "magic bullet". But it doesn't. I know I've read it like a million times that you can not lose weight by exercise alone but you can by diet alone. I've tried MFP and think that I could be in starvation mode that has slowed things down. I know, I said I was going to try to eat more, but I just can not bring myself to do it. Eating too much is what got me fat in the first place! Count those binge days and I did eat more. What is a girl to do?? I just want to put weight loss in the completed goal basket once and for all. Today is a day off from exercise so I have to watch how much I eat.
Comment by Cindy on October 13, 2012 at 11:07am I'm sorry. I know it's frustrating and I know how hard you're working at this. The exercise DVDs sound like they change things up quite a bit. Do you feel like you get enough cardio with them? Maybe more cardio would help if you feel like it's not enough. I don't really know but I do know it's frustrating.
I know eating more sounds crazy and it's hard to do but if you know you are under calories and have been consistently upping the calories may be what is necessary.
Comment by Brandy on October 13, 2012 at 11:45am I completely understand where you are coming from. I'm not sure if the whole weight loss thing will ever be something I can be "done" with. I think, for me, it's going to be something I get better at. Each day is a new one. You have been healthy, and that is what is important: exercise, healthy food, that's what it's all about. Hugs!
You still make good choices most of the time when you eat more. Binges don't count.
You just have to try it and be patient. If you gain from it, you can always stop.
Comment by TinaInMunich on October 13, 2012 at 5:10pm It's sad to hear your hard work is still not paying off, you really deserve it! :( I've lost weight by only dieting, both times. I could give you some tips on what is working for me, or the guidelines my nutritionist gave me, if you are interested. Just let me know :)
Comment by Ali on October 14, 2012 at 10:35am You should post your meals. Maybe up the protein and lower your carbs???That always seems to cut the fat and give you a little boost.
Comment by Almost There on October 15, 2012 at 11:29am Just remember, if you put "weight loss" into the completed basket you HAVE to put "weight maintenance" onto your "to do" list! Trust me, it isn't so different. You still have to be vigilant! You still have to exercise and you still have to make healthy choices.
Comment by Dee on October 15, 2012 at 8:36pm It's about, eat more WHAT. If you eat more vegetables, you're not going to gain. Also, I learned one thing but wasn't able to stick with it, but will share it with you anyway. I went off sugar for 31 days, and that ended up meaning I wasn't eating many grains either, though I wasn't specifically grain-free. This move, avoiding sugar, accelerated my weight loss, even though I was already losing. So I was on a clip of losing about 3lbs per month. I cut sugar, and lost 8 in one month. I ate alot of vegetables and meat. It was like Atkins or South Beach, though I was not following any plan. I just didn't eat or drink it if it had added sugar. I feel confident if I ever have the nerve to do that again *most* of the time, I will see weight loss again. It's hard though.
