Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Hust here to check in, went a bit over today, less then 100 calories, but we had a bit of a snack fest after dinner. Tonight is Erev Yom Kippur, which, for those of you unfamiliare with Judaisim, is the most important "holiday" of the year. All Jewish holiday's start on at sun down the night before, so as with tradition on Yom Kippur, we will be fasting until sundown tomorrow. Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement, the day where you reflect on your year and ask forgiveness and atonement for any sins you may have committed to others and to G-d. Additionally, it is considered the day that G-d seals your fate for the next year in the Book of Life.We are not very obserant Jews (infact, i'm not Jewish at all, but The Husband is, and we are raising the son Jewish) however, the majority of Jews celebrate Yom Kippur in some way. So, may you all be sealed for a good year (G'mar Hatimah Tovah).

The Kid was sick today, threw off my whole schedule. I still had to go to school for his SELPA meeting with his Speech Therapist, the Principal, & his teacher. Then I went to the PTA meeting for our fall carnival. The poor kid had to sit home with Dad, and of course, not get fed anything! ARGH! Him being home was a bit of a pain, since it threw off my gym plans. He was 'feeling' fine, but had a terrible cough, mild sore throat, and congestion. No fever. Not the kind of love I want to share with his class mates. I think he should be good for tomorrow, it's his short day, so hopefully he can power through with some 12 hour cough medicine.

Squeezed in 30 miutes elevation intervals on the treadmill, tougher then I expected, and I was glad just to get something in.

Got an additional stresser when I got a call from my Dr. that they needed an additional mammogram, done by a radiologist. The original technician warned me that this could happen, but it's still stressful. Apparently, since this was my first mammogram, they have no base line, so any abnormalities, or any percieved abnormalities, need to be double checked by the radiologist. She said it happens frequently on first mamograms. However, of course, you can't help but allowing your mind to wander on what it could mean... Really like, I need any more stress! Appointment is on Thursday, hopefully it will all be normal.

Thank you, everyone for the prayers and well wishes for Patches. She is my love, and I am hoping they can make her healthy so we can have some more time with her.

Cheers ~ lynette

I hope your son feels well soon. It is a bummer being sick. Considering all that you are going through, you still managed to squeeze in a half hour of exercise and only went over calories by 100?! You ROCK. My prayers are with Patches and she can get healthy.

Man!! One mammo is bad enough-but to get another! Yikes!

Can they do an ultrasound instead?

Keem, it may just be an ultra sound, although they did give me the warnings about deoderant, powders, etc. I was kind of shocked when they called... Hopefully they can just do what they need to do.

Amazing you got any fitness in at all with that schedule! Kudos to you! And have a happy holiday. I'm sure your med results will turn out just fine. I understand stressing though, I always do!

Sounds like a lot going on and that you're doing a wonderful job managing.  :)

Thank you for the Yom Kippur well wishes. We have quite a large (relatively) Jewish population of students at our school and many were out today. I really enjoy asking them and learning more about their holidays and their reactions to them as teenagers. It is fascinating, actually.

Great job on getting the exercise in especially with the day you had going on! Hoping for no issues the mammo. I've had the same thing happen to me twice over the years.
