No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
A good day. I am tired but it is a good tired. I am still kicking it with Insanity, but I've took some advice from Dee and now do some serious stretching after the workouts and I find that it helps with my recovery and makes the next work out go that much smoother. I hope that this week I see a loss. If not I am going to have to change things up. The eating plan that comes with Insanity states to cut back 100-150 calories a day and a change should occur. I think the best time to make that kind of cut is at dinner. As for Bob Greene's book, one tip for healthy eating is learning the hunger scale. Long story short is to aim to eat only until a level of comfort that I feel satisfied, but could eat just a little more. So I've been trying to push away from meals when I feel that. He also says that due to overeating and/or eating all day it is important to eat on a schedule and stick to it. This is suppose to help bring back our ability to determine when we are hungry. I try to shoot for the same times each day and put 3 hours in between. I never eat the after dinner snack as I do not want to go to bed full. So I am trying to adhere to the following
Breakfast
Snack
Lunch
Snack
Dinner
Snack
I want to finally begin to lose weight and develop a healthy relationship with food. I got the exercise thing down now it is the eating thing.
Comment by Lynette S on September 6, 2012 at 9:59pm I like that look and sound of that plan, it makes sense. Which Bob Green book is it?
Comment by Jill Mace on September 7, 2012 at 3:07am Is there a calorie breakdown for each meal and snack? What kinds of foods do you eat on this program? In WW we talk a lot about the hunger scale. It is supposed to be the way we eat all the time. Only when hungry and for no other reasons. Never let ourselves get starving. Never let ourselves get stuffed. Sounds easy- but then you through in temptation and emotional eating..... sigh
Comment by Jessica on September 7, 2012 at 8:28am You are kicking butt on exercise!
So glad it's coming together for you!
Comment by Dee on September 7, 2012 at 1:59pm I like how you know WHEN you're going to eat. I tend to leave things open-ended and that just doesn't cut it. I like your schedule alot. And: Good things come to those who stretch!!
@ Lynette The book is "The Life You Want: Get Motivated, Lose Weight, and Be Happy.
@ Jill - He doesn't get into calories until we re-learn the eating thing. The schedule is to learn hunger & stop constant eating.
