Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Cold weather makes me want to sleep in and snuggle on the couch.  This morning was no different, but I got up, put on my winter running gear (thanks to my loving hubby who didn't complain about spending money on the new stuff), and headed out the door.  I ran a 5k today.  Still slow, but I bettered my time again today.  With my warm up and cool down walking, it took me 39:48.  Slow wins the race, I keep telling myself.

My friend at work and I have made a plan to start weight training together at the gym two days a week.  I'm kinda excited.  Also, another co-worker invited me to come with her to the cycling class.  I'm nervous about that since I've never done it before, but if she promises to help me out and come with me, I think I might try it.  Yay for venturing out of comfort zones!

Here's the meal plan for today:
B: coffee w/creamer--I had brought breakfast, but didn't get to eat it until lunch time

L: 1 chicken fajita (leftovers from last night) and 1 apple (sliced)

Snack: 2 mini candy bars, 1 cookie (like Chips Ahoy), 1/4 c. chex mix (there were snacks at our meeting)

D: steak and pepper hoagie sandwich (with 1 oz cheese), 1/2 c. garlicky kale  (Dinner was delicious!  I love the Fresh 20!!!)

Dessert: skinny blueberry cobbler (recipe adapted from: http://honeyandnutmeg.blogspot.com/2012/07/skinny-blueberry-cobbler...)

Amazing side note: I got asked if I wanted to go to an exercise class by a coworker; something that has never happened before; probably because it was obvious I never exercised; I am now someone who looks like I am in shape enough to be asked to have an exercise buddy.  It feels pretty good.  :)

I hate getting out of a warm bed on these cold mornings. Tomorrow it is suppose to dip down to 28 for the morning. My lungs would quit if I attempted to run in that! I think it is great how you are being invited to do different exercise. I would love to try cycling class. Or is it called spinning. It is so important for each of us to step out of the comfort zone. You are inspiring me to do the same.

Yay you for getting up!  That can be so hard!  I am proud of you!  Exercise buddies are the best!  So glad you have one!!!!

The cold weather had a huge impact on me in the last couple weeks!  Hard for me to drink water.  Hard to eat raw fruits & veggies, salads and I just want to snuggle all day!  I'm obsessed with hot tea!!!

Love that side note! And weight training is my absolute fave...there's something seriously empowering about it. Too bad it's the first to get "cut" if I have to miss a workout.
