I know I am not alone in saying that January is my LEAST favorite month. The Holiday Season was so wonderful that it makes this month feel even more depressing. The frigid cold, gray days don't help any! I have been sick the last 10 days and on mega doses of antibiotics so I should feel better but I don't yet. But the pity party ends today!
I have made some challenges for myself. The first is one I have seen on other blogs, an Empty the Pantry Challenge. I am really lucky in that, if I see something at the grocery store that I have heard about and would like to try, I can buy it. So I put a halt to the spending until I can use up what I already have. The freezer and cabinets are stocked so I want to see how long I can go. The hardest part will be using up the frozen chicken. I am on my second week of eating meatless. I'm not really doing that on purpose, I just have lost my taste for meat and poultry.
My second challenge is to start the 100 push up challenge and KEEP AT IT! I have started this so many times and then I forget or whatever. I like to do it and I am pretty good at it so this time I will finish it!
The third is to hit the gym or work out at home everyday for the rest of the month. Today is a work out at home day as I am still not feeling 100%.
My fourth challenge to myself is to rebuild my endurance. I am no wheres near the level I was at in December. My walking/running/swimming levels have decreased a lot and I am not happy about that. Between being sick and not making it to the gym, well my endurance has really suffered.
My last one (so far anyway!) is to try and eat half of what I usually do. Although I stay very close to my points/calories, it seems like I eat a lot. So I am putting what I would usually eat on my plate, and then taking half off. I am trying to determine my 'satisfied level', which is definitely not the same as my 'full level' LOL! I am trying to remember that there is a reason THIN is part of THIN/K.
I might go to the tanning salon and sign up for another session.
I think that would go a long ways in making me feel better But my deal with myself on that is that I have to walk to it. I have a nice warm Land's End parka and great boots but still..not sure I am up for that. It's a mile there and a mile back and normally that would not be a problem but I am just not at the top of my game so....
I am going to do my best to make sure today is a great day, and I hope you do the same!
