CHALLENGE: A Week of Snack-Less Nights

Hello fellow BtL'ers! I first want to say I'm so sorry I've been MIA. I've been approving members, reducing spam and diving into blogs when I can but my time's been pretty limited. However if you read my personal blog you may know that I'm quitting my job come August! I'm SO SO SO excited? (Can you tell I'm excited?) :)

That's gonna free up at least 10 hours a day and allow me to do ALL the things I've been wanting to do on this site for years. I've always had plans to not only make this a space for those that want to get and give support on their weight loss journeys but I wanted it to be a thriving active community that inspires and motivates.

SO to celebrate I'm issuing a challenge this week. It's not an impossible challenge but it's definitely something I know many struggle with myself included.

Night Time Snacking.

Some of us do it out of boredom some out of pure exhaustion. We mindlessly munch while watching evening TV or grab something from the fridge while heading to bed (I just did that last night.) I don't think all night time eating is bad and I don't think we need to make some ridiculous unachievable goal like.. "I'm never going to eat after 7PM again, EVER!"

That's just not realistic. You will have a late dinner or be hungry in the evening now and then. BUT one week of snack-less nights can do us good. It can help us become more conscious of our evening eating habits and challenge us to try some something new while building confidence when we reach the goal.

And we WILL reach the goal. Together.

Here's the deal. I created a Weekly Challenge Group. If you are interested in taking on some of the challenges simply join the group. Don't worry you aren't signing up to take on every challenge every week. This is a purely a voluntary thing. However, you must be a member of that group to check in and report your progress.

I will start a discussion within the group each day this week where we can post our progress and thoughts as we progress through the week. I've already started today's. Simply give us an update before heading to bed tonight or if you are really struggling post INSTEAD of grabbing that bag of chips.

Depending on the number of people who sign up maybe we can even get a chat going a couple of nights this week. I know that would help me fight the cravings.

So who's with me?

Oh! and P.S. I'm defining a week at Monday-Friday unless other wise noted.

I'm with ya! I am horrible with the night time snacking, so this is a perfect challenge for me this week. And I'm going to bring the husband along for the ride too.

I need this challenge ... but will I be able to do it? My habit is to snack after I get home from work (at midnight).

I need the challenge. I have a terrible habit of eating after dinner. Snacking in front of the TV....

Yup snacking is my weakness as well. I guess going cold turkey for a week will do me some good.

This is one of my worst habits, especially on the weekend. I eat in bed and most of the time I'm not even hungry. I'll take this challenge beginning (gulp) tonight. Thanks for starting this!
