No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

I think I am getting burned out. I like what running has done for me. I look so much leaner. But I have been pushing myself & to be honest I am bored. I am not sure if it is due to the treadmill or what but I know I need to add in some resistance training. I was planning on joining a health club through the winter months to break up the running & get some much needed upper body work. Well, I never did that for many reasons. The most obvious one is my concern I would undo all the great lower body work running has done by cutting back on it. So I made the decision to shorten my runs & add resistance training. Today I ran 3.4 miles then I did a 30 minute upper body workout. Oh my I had no idea how weak my arms have become. I couldn't even do alll the push ups. I am curious to see if I keep up this 1/2 running & 1/2 resistance workouts if it will help break this plateau I have been on & help with renewing my desire for running. Trying something new might be just what I need.

Awesome plan!  The muscle building will help you burn more calories which is always welcome!  I loved what lifting did for my shape and although it has been along time since I've been able to partake, lifting is still my favorite kind of exercise.  I the treadmill!!!  It makes me feel like a caged animal and being outside walking or running is always so much better!  Glad you are changing things up to break up the monotony!

I love, love, love strength training! It shapes your body like nothing else--plus it makes you feel like a badass! Rock on girl, you will love it!
