No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Yesterday ended my vacation : (
I was in beautiful Nova Scotia for over 2 months. I have a few pics to share another time, because I'm too tired to go get the camera and upload them.
Today, I start work. Thankfully, not until 5pm when I have a parent-teacher open house.
I am SICK. On the plane we were completely surrounded by young children and 2 of them coughed the whole flight. The commercial is so right about taking airborne before a flight. I should have thought of that. I've never done it before, I've always waited to take airborne until I feel the first tickle in my throat or a slightly runny nose. This time I should have before.
There is no food in the apt. We turned off our fridge before we left. So we have a few random pantry items. My favorite girl scout cookies and a bag of candy from my mother. SERIOUSLY, mom. She was like I got this bag of candy free with purchase and then this box of cookies is old but has no expiration date. Why do they have to be my favorites??
We didn't have supper last night because my parents made such a huge meal for lunch. They served salad, ears of corn, spaghetti with meat sauce, a loaf of garlic bread and dessert. I'm not sure how many people they thought were coming for lunch but there were just the 4 of us.
So now I'm hungry, since its been 16 hours since the big meal. We're gonna have to head to the grocery storeS today. Yep, I think I'm doing a tour this time. We always go to hy-vee and pick up the occasional item at walmart for our groceries. But this time we need EVERYTHING and that's going to be expensive. So my plan is to wait until my sudafed kicks in a bit and then head out to the cheapest stores in town first. First on the list is aldis. I've never done well at that store, but every item than I can get cheaper is a success and the gas isn't anymore than going to hyvee.
My weight is at 181.6 today. Which is amazing considering all I've ate. At the beginning of the vacation, I was exercising constantly, 2 or 3 times a day, and tracking all my calories. I got down to 173 and I could see some new bones. But then we started going out to eat a lot and generally enjoying vacation. I'm very happy that I left for vacation right about 180 and came back only a couple lbs up.
I hope everyone else is doing as well. I'm going to try to check on your posts as I can. I can't make up for being without internet for 2 months, but I'm going to make an effort now.
Comment by Erica on August 13, 2012 at 9:52am I like Aldi for produce. frozen fruit, fish & boca burgers, salsa & almonds. There is lots of processed junk to be passed up in the first aisle! I go to multiple stores every week & it is annoying but like you I'm also trying to stretch the budget. I hope you get some good buys & feel better!

Comment by Cindy on August 13, 2012 at 1:38pm I missed you over the summer and was so glad to see you back! It sounds like you did a great job over the summer with eating and exercise, especially for that long.
Sorry you're sick. Try to take it easy if you can but I know with the start of school that's gonna be tough to do.
Comment by Dee on August 13, 2012 at 1:46pm Welcome back! Sounds like although there was some fluctuation, by and large you remained committed and the results are you about where you were when you left. It would be easy to have a massive gain in two months, so the fact that you actually lost and then stabilized, really reveals that you stayed fairly committed to your health and fitness goals. That is awesome! That attitude spells success for when you arrive at maintenance. Hope the school year is off to a smooth start!
I often get sick on flights. I hate it!
Comment by Brandy on August 13, 2012 at 4:28pm So glad you are back. I'm happy that you were able to enjoy vacation and maintain so well. :) It's never fun to be back at the grindstone, especially with you being sick now. I hope you are able to get better soon and enjoy the beginning of the school year.
Comment by Almost There on August 15, 2012 at 6:40pm Missed you Megan--glad you are back! Good luck at the grocery--I know my mom loves Aldi--I love that they make you bring your own bags--and pay for the shopping carts! Looking forward to seeing your pictures.
