No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Hi everyone. I am back from a week of family vacation. I'm so glad to be back and excited to share with everyone.
First we went to a nearby State Park and rented a cabin for the week. We took our canoe and bicycles and I bought tons of healthy fruits and veggies for meals--a big switch from the old plan! It was my husband and our three teens (and two dogs). This was a vacation, but I was determined that I would do really well with my eating and fitness. I treated it more like a fun boot camp (if there is such a thing!)
Every day was quite an adventure...I had four activities that I rotated between...Swimming, Walking, Biking, and Canoeing. Each and every day I did a combination of three of those activities, sometimes adding up to over 2 hours of pretty intense exercise. Yesterday, our final day, I managed to fit in all four! My family came along and supported me and my best friend actually drove down and walked with me one of the days...really kept me motivated.
While there, I was reading my healthy living book, and I actually had to drive to town because I needed a notebook to take notes, it was THAT good! And when my kids were off walkiing, or whatever, I would sit my hubby down and share with him my new revelations and ask for his help in different areas.
For treats, I knew I did not want to withhold the s'mores from the kids' enjoyment, so I purchased a bag of small York peppermint patties. A serving is 3 of them, and they are pretty low in fat/calories. When they had s'mores, I ate a couple of my Yorks. (You really can't eat many, IMHO, because they start to taste like toothpaste! hahaha)
I know that I lost weight and gained muscle--I had many mini-victories through the week--whether a new hill I could climb with my bike, or fitting into capris that never fit me.
I am soooo revved up and excited for the future. I have not weighed in yet, but I'll do that in the morning, as usual. My guess is about 5 pounds lost from a week of vacationing! I KNOW I can do this...I AM doing this!!!!
Sorry this is so long, but I am really happy to share!
