Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Several successful maintainers on here (you know who you are!) have mentioned or suggested just starting back a little bit at a time to get back into the groove of weight loss. I kept wanting to do it the same way I started, with the same motivation, energy and drive that I had when I was 40 lbs heavier. Ain't happening, folks. So, yes, I'm going to start small. This week my focus is on food. I'm tracking what I eat but not the calories. That's it. I will put no other pressure on myself. I know I'll get to the gym but there won't be any of this 'going to go a minimum of 5 times this week' which is what I normally say/do. Besides, work hours have been insane this week. I don't care about the scale at this point. I just want to get back into some sense of sustained control.

Having said that, I did pretty well today. Dinner could have been better but I was starving when I got home. Proud of not going into Starbux for a 'treat'. Going to pack food for tomorrow.......which happens to be Wednesday!!!

Food: I highlighted the not so good choices; just noticing....

Breakfast: black coffee, plain yogurt, fresh berries, flaxseed

Snack: nope

Lunch: small salad with tuna in oo/vinegar, no cheese!

Snack: 1/2 chicken sandwich on whole wheat w/ mustard and sprouts

Snack #2: 1 fruit/nut bar

Snack #3: 1/3 cup of honey coated sunflower seeds before dinner - not great but I was starving!!!

Dinner: one homemade hamburger w/ mayo, some bites of roasted chicken and a few small bites of the crunchy skin - ouch! I knew I should have stayed away!

Baby steps will get you there, too! Congrats on day one! May it be your first of a zillion back on track! :)

I'm happy to hear you had a better day. No cheese on your salad? I'm impressed!
