60 days & Why I weigh myself every day

So I have a few minutes and I want to share the results of my 60 days from July 1 to Sept 1st. I am not bragging, but I am pretty happy with my success.

I lost 22 pounds--exactly my goal--12 pounds in July, and 10 pounds in August by moving more, eating a lot more fruits and veggies, ,more lean protein, drinking more water, almost eliminating bread and sweets.

Inches lost in 1 month--from August 1st to Sept. 1st:
0.5" off my waist,

1.0" off my bust :(

1.0" off my upper right arm

0.5" off my tummy

1.0" off my upper right thigh

0.5" off my right calf
I do weigh and track what I am doing every day...and I wanted to show WHY I do this...I made a graph of my weight over that 60 days. It's crazy, up and down. But when I track I can tell periods when I didn't do as much exercise what it did to my weight. Also, If I only track once a week and I happened to weigh in on a day when I was up 2 pounds, it would be very discouraging. So I keep the chart below where I can look at it and not get too discouraged if the scale isn't cooperating. (I know, get a life, right? But I try to act as my own trainer)

That section in the middle was vacation--I didn't weigh in. I was very active walking, canoeing, biking, etc. (allowed myself some little york peppermint patties while the kids had s'mores )  and still lost 2 lbs

That's so gret--even though it's not ALWAYS headed in the down direction, you can see the end dot is so much lower than the starting one! :)

Wow - that is fabulous!  What great motivation!

Wow...wow...wow...! This is no brag, this is what we're here for, to support and share what works. And you are definitely on to something that works. How you described your eating, is how I hope to corral my eating these next 90 days. I've tried before, but I struggle with eliminating breads and sweets. Whenever I manage, that's when I lose weight. I love how you tracked so carefully, and that in doing so, you prove a point: that just because you don't see weight change with the typical weekly tracking, there is always progress when you're being consistent. Wow, 22 lbs! That's amazing. I hope for a similar outcome by managing to be more consistent with my diet these next three months. I also want to track and make my own graph!!!

Congrats on losing 22 pounds! It must be wonderful to hit your goals. I currently weigh in once a week and it can be so discouraging to see the number go up one week like it did this week. I need to try and remember that I need to look over the whole picture. Take a monthly view. Do you count calories? I've used many of those on line  calculators to figure out how much I need to be eating and I do shoot for those numbers daily.

Thank you all very much...it doesn't feel like I've done anything amazing really.

And I haven't conquered the breads & sweets completely...but I hardly ever eat them.

@ Dee...I do not count calories right now. When it had been awhile of being "off the wagon" or on...or whatever...I had to count calories for a couple weeks to figure out where I needed to be with my eating in order to lose. When I do, I use MyFitnessPal--I still use it everyday to log in my weight and exercise. And if I go a stretch without losing any pounds, I may track calories for awhile.

My eating is a small breakfast after my workout, a greek yogurt for AM snack, a balanced lunch, sometimes a small balanced PM snack, a sensible dinner. I have cut out bedtime snacks as much as I can stand....

Snacking: Everyone always tells me that "Hey, popcorn in the evening is no big deal." But my charting shows that if I eat in the evening, I don't lose weight.

WOW that is seriously awesome and inspiring! I think I may consider doing this... I notice I can get really discouraged if I weigh in on a 'heavy' day or on the morning after I had a lot of sodium... Hmmm! Do you guarantee results ;-)

I've found it to help a lot.  And ummmm... no. Sorry, no guaranteed results, if I could do that, I'd be a very rich (and skinny) lady!   :0)
