Blog to Lose

No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!

Well, here it is, week 2 on Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live and this is much easier than I had anticipated.  When I first read how restrictive the first 6 weeks were, I though to myself "holy cow, this is really going to take a committment and a lot of willpower."  That is really not the case.

Admittedly, I've had some moments putting things in my mouth that I felt could use a little more flavor but I'm really getting along just fine.  I'm not having any of those terrible arguments in my mind about running to the local ice cream shop or sneaking a cookie, chocolate bar, or ANYTHING! I thought those mind arguments were normal.  I always get them when I'm dieting, so this is a big change.

I'm down at least 5 lbs, I can't say exactly how much I've lost because I was too ashamed to weigh myself at the start of this.  All I know is that when I started my pants were terribly uncomfortable to the point that I probably should have been considering a larger size-which I refused to do.  Now, they're fitting fine.  For months I've had problems with my ankles swelling by the end of the day which sometimes takes more than a day to resolve.  I don't have ANY ankle swelling, haven't for 2 weeks!  These things alone are quite an inspiration and motivation to keep going.  No reflux.  Nothing.

I'm quite pleased and have no regrets about leaving meat behind, for the moment.

I am so glad you are feeling so great. I know the more wholesome I eat the better I feel too! I just can't seem to kick the coffee habit yet though. I just wanted to share a site that the person follows a vegan/Dr Fuhrman plan. I love some of her recipes and since I am trying to eliminate added fats I just love it. Check it out.

PS. I am glad you chose to come back to BTL

Good job!

Those "mind arguments" you describe sound like my "talking food"--you know--when you have something in the house-like maybe a pan of brownies-and they callllll out to you until you consume them.. :P

Congrats on your second week! I also started without a scale and didn't use one for about 8 months. It was so liberating to just go by how I felt and how my clothes fit!
