No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I was just wondering how long ago it has been since my weight has been where it is currently because over the last 2 weeks I have had a couple people mention that I look like I've lost weight! Well I have but was shocked that anyone noticed. So I looked at my log and it's actually been just over 2 years since my weight has been this low! And 3 years since I was where I want to be, in the low 130's. Back then I was weight lifting pretty intensely and in really great shape. Then I started having all these crazy symptoms that got worse and worse. It took over two years and several doctors before I finally found a competent doctor and got the diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Then it took 6 months before I started feeling better with treatment. It has been a long road and I have never been through anything this difficult in my life. I've made good progress and hope to continue to improve.
Since I cannot exercise much, my nutrition has got to be in check! I'm only 5'2" and since I'm not burning many calories through exercise I really have to track very carefully! The weight is coming off slow and I have to remind myself to be patient with the process. I have been doing the majority of food prep on Sundays and usually a bit more on Weds. Typically I will make a pot of soup on Sunday and a couple salads for Mon & Tues. I also plan dinners and usually prep a couple of them on Sunday. I have Wed off so I usually make the rest of my lunches for the week. This way I can enter my dinner into my fitness pal and make my breakfast, lunch and snacks work for the rest of day without going over. This has been working out great for me and I highly recommend food prep, especially if you work outside the home. Then I just grab what I'm having for the day and load up my cooler with ice packs and I'm good to go! Also great for the budget because I'm not buying food out!
