No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I forgot to weigh in on Wednesday before my run, so I weighed in after at 172.2. That's down substantially from my surprise weight-gain last week, but still up a little from my usual weight. I don't know if weighing in after running makes a difference. I'm sure I sweat out a bunch of water weight, but I also drank a whole bunch of water and a cup of milk after running and before weighing. But whatever. I don't need precision accuracy, I guess.
I haven't lost any weight AT ALL since I've started blogging. I'm not going to beat around the bush, here. I'm just not dedicated/motivated enough to eating healthfully. Actually, it's not even that because I do eat pretty well most days. The problem is that I eat balanced, nutritional meals and healthy snacks, and then on top of that I eat totally superfluous junk, and sometimes lots of it. I have more thoughts to run through on that, but I'll leave it alone 'til next time.
This week, I skipped my Monday morning run. I felt kind of out of it on Sunday night and decided I wouldn't even bother trying. It was probably a good decision. On Tuesday, I got up early(ish) and rode my horse before work to avoid the heat. It was pretty hot out anyway.
On Wednesday, I didn't want to run. I was angry at my alarm clock. I wanted to stay in bed. But I went anyway, which made the dog happy. We did about 2.5 miles. I was actually still pretty grumpy for about 80% of the run, but felt better when I got home. I dunno. Sometimes it just feels like a chore. I know it needs to be done and I'll be glad when it's done, but that doesn't make doing it any more enjoyable. Maybe that's part of running in the morning? I have to stop doing something I enjoy--sleeping--to do something that takes work. Then again, is it any easier running in the afternoon? I have to pull the energy and motivation out of nowhere after having my soul sucked out at the office all day. That might be worse.
This morning, I got up early and rode again, and it was hot again. Clearly, I need to get up earlier. Tomorrow I intend to run before work, then do a long run early on Saturday. I'll have to find some time to ride, too. Fortunately, our heat wave is supposed to break early next week, which will make life easier.
I just read back through this post, and wow. I am boring.
