No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
The Walmart Factor
If you follow me on Twitter (@WorkoutMuzkDiva), then you know yesterday was an absolutely crazy day! It started off pretty "deep," and then went to melt-down status in less than 30 minutes. When I was writing yesterday's blog entry in the mid…

Comparing ourselves
I find myself constantly comparing myself to others on all different topics. Mostly I compare where I feel I am lacking (others who are thin, who have had weight loss success, who make more money, are experts in something, have more education, are doing something they love, are doing something I…

Goals again
As I said in my previous post, I'm just not feeling that motivated lately. When I started blogging here, I wanted to get down to 150, and that was only a primary goal. Well, in the past four months, I've managed to...do nothing. On weeks when I've worked out and eaten like a rabbit, nothing changes. On weeks when I'm lazy and stuffing my face with junk, nothing changes. My weight has been rattling around this 170-172 range, and that's it.
And I'm having trouble…

Carbonated calories
I don't have much to report today except that I did go to yoga but skipped the cardio workout I had intended to do afterwards because I felt kind of nauseated. I did not enjoy yoga tonight. I'm starting to think that I might just not enjoy yoga. I like to think that after I've stuck with it for a while, I'll get better and then I'll be able to enjoy the challenge. Right now I just feel like I'm going to break something.
I also exceeded my calorie limit, although only by 22 calories. I…

First Day Back
Positives
1. Resisted buying a snack in the p.m.
2. I joined the YMCA tonight.
ADDED 3. New pajamas in large fit. Didn't think they would. :-)
Negatives
1. Snacked a bit too much before dinner.
2. No workout.
That's not too bad. I had no thought that today would be perfect. This week is my attempt at getting back on track. …

Hello Again
It's been a bit since I've been on and while some of it's due to being on vacation and some from just being out of it. My SOS before the holidays with trying to get back on track before the holidays didn't stick. I didn't stop my behavior and come Christmas I had gained 5 pounds in a week. Yea, yea, I know. I am sure it was partly water weight, but the scale said 5 pounds. Bah! Oddly enough, I wasn't too upset over it. Maybe my mindset is changing.
Then we went…

New Year, New Start?
Some people say that what you do on January 1 will set the tone for the rest of the year. I hope that's not true, because then a whole lot of people are kicking off the next 365 days (366 this year) with a hangover.
Personally, I think it's an arbitrary day on the calendar, BUT if it is enough to kick start someone's healthy resolutions, than more power to 'em.
I was out late last night, and while not hungover today, I've definitely been feeling pretty tired and out of it. The…

Christmas
So I weighed myself on Christmas day in the morning and I had finally broke through my plateau and reached 227lbs! (Thanks daily plate!) That was my 10% goal that I have been working on FOREVER and I seemed to hover between 2oz and 2lbs away.
I discovered I was shooting myself in the foot. I was drinking a lot of my calories via coffee and I clearly have a PB and toast addiction. (The first step is admitting the problem). I also had the mistaken idea that since we eat healthy I…

Weekly weigh-in
So I am feeling a bit discouraged. I had a mini-binge a couple days ago and I still feel guilty. However; I was able to stop, which is new. I decided that I was still going to log all of my food, and that I would have accounted for all the food I ate over by reducing my intake until Tuesday. That made me stop eating! I figured it out, and if I reduce each day's food by 1 carb and 1 fat serving, I will be on track by Tuesday A.M.
I really hurt my knee running a few days…

Refreshed
I've been noticing a lot around the blogs that most of you guys set goals for yourself, whether it be a mini weight goal, a goal for the week, day or month and I see a lot of positive outcomes from having those said goals. So I've decided that I'm going to set some myself! and I'm actually kind of excited about it, too. So I'm going to list a few of my goals and the time…

New season new workout
New workout summer is over and time for fall workouts! For me fall workouts mean more intense and hopefully more results!
1. Try to run every day. goal =2 miles per day minimum (minimum 5x per week)
2. Split up weights and core get to each 2x per week. Probably core on Tues/Thurs before spin (5am)
3 Weights 3x per week instead of 2x per week
4. Long walk or run on sundays
5. Spin 4x per week…

Running After Roni: 5k, 10k, and Half-Mary!
I haven't posted all that much about my exercise life lately, mainly because the area where I need accountability is my diet. For some reason, I have little problem being consistent with exercise, though that can waver at times too, while I have lots of ups and down weekly (daily?) with being consistent about eating healthy. (It's getting better though).
Today, however, I was so inspired as I caught up on Roni posts about her plans to train for yet another half-marathon. This…

Quick update on my summer goals
My summer goals are to:
Food plan/shop/cook: Well, last night I made my crockpot chicken with steamed carrots and rice (latter for BF only). I was able to bring chicken along with a kale salad I got pre-made at Whole Foods- enough for the whole week! Now I just need to boil some eggs so I can add them to the salad. Also, someone suggested Food for Life brand bread- I got some, the Manna Banana Walnut Hemp bread, and it's making a perfect quickie breakfast for…

Summer Goals
A recent BTLer post (from Paula) asked folks what goals they have set. I realized I didn't have any, so I started to reflect. I decided to confine my goal setting to the summer months.
This summer I want to:
1. FINALLY develop an efficient and consistent schedule around meal planning, shopping and cooking
2. Go from reduced sugar intake, to sugar elimination. This…

workout fanatic?
This is my reply to a friend who sent me an email saying maybe I was becoming a workout fanatic.... she wants the best for me but as we are in different countries now she has not seen me or what I have physically become.....
I am not becoming a workout fanatic but with my last son I put on ALOT of weight. I know that I am the only one who can make it go away so I am doing it. It takes a LONG TIME. As of last year I had approximately 100-150 lbs to lose I have lost about…

I have been struggling this week. Well, I've now been struggling for a full week. It seems as though one day I am fine and then the next day it all goes to hell! After Mother's Day I was back on track on Monday. Then Tuesday I took my little sister (guess I should say younger, since she's totally taller than me!) to get her first tattoo. I had planned on working out beforehand, but due to unforeseen circumstances I never made it home to do that. We had MOPS that morning, then dropped…

It is Thursday morning and my official weigh in day. I call it my official weigh in day because I do weigh myself daily. This is something that works for me. I know it does not work for everyone, but weighing myself daily helps to keep me motivated. Sure, on the days that there is an upward fluctuation it can be a little frustrating but I know that the fluctuations are normal. And on this journey I am actually learning that when it does fluctuate up at the beginning of the week, by the time…

I am now 43 days into my original #7daychip which was for daily tracking my food and no junk food. I am excited to say that it is going really well. It seems to get easier as time goes on. Of course there are days that I go completely nuts (typically when I need to go grocery shopping!) and all I want is crappy food. However, these days are mainly only once a week, maybe less. And so far I have managed to stick to my guns. Usually the…
