No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
I've been hustling to get back in a grove. On the 31st, I had a training out of town, immediately followed by a conference in D.C. where my Director and I left on Saturday and came home Tuesday night.
I tried to set myself up for success by packing proportioned snacks and bringing fruit with me to nibble on. I drank lots of water too .... and we walked A L O T.
However, for the most part, food options were not in my control so I had to be intentional in my eating.
I'm sharing the links to all the recipes that I have been enjoying cooking over the last month. I love to make a pot of soup for the week. There's nothing easier or greater during the cold weather, just scoop into my Pyrex bowls and take to work. I usually do soup and salad but if I get lazy and don't pack a salad, I still have a quick healthy go to. I've made this one a few times and it is fantastic and addicting …Continue
It's been a couple weeks since I've logged on to btl and since I've stepped on the scale. With all the travel I was doing I didn't want a disappointment. So I waited and here I am with another small loss. I'm happy and motivated to move forward. I'm consistently logging my food into MFP and cooking lots of new recipes lately which is lots of fun!
1.8 down for my second WW weigh in.
I had to go two days early because of work. So I went to another location near my house. I thought it'd be awkward 1) without my friend who I started this journey out with 2) with a group I didn't know .... but ya know what? It wasn't bad. I even stayed for the meeting. Surprised myself.
Observations - I've become very intentional about what I am doing with my meal planning and what I consume. I may not be doing weekly planning, but I…Continue
4# loss at weigh in last night. BAM!
Had fun learning the program and finding my way. The WW app also added to the fun of the week. Lots of support there. Anyone else on WW - look me up on Connect - bryantlab
I had some a-ha moments this week. The first came on Wednesday when we had a meeting with lunch provided by my boss. At first I cringed and had to leave the room so that I could look up the points value of the Chick-Fil-A sandwich that they gave me. I decided to cut…Continue
Honestly it was an okay week nothing fantastic. It's been crazy busy at work and I have literally been running my but off.
Weight- Down 4.5 lb
Food- I did okay this week but it could have definitely been better and knowing that I should be making better choices makes me feel guilty after I make a poor choice. I also need to be better about documenting in mfp.
Exercise- I was able to get a 1.5 mile walk in today and want to start some gardening and possibly get a bike…Continue
WOW - its been a while for sure. July 9, 2016 to be exact. Its been quite the ride.
Let me start by saying, dang I've missed you guys. So I joined Weight Watchers last Monday. Yup. After a million years (not really) of trying it on my own, I came to the realization that I need to spend the money for the accountability. Don't get me wrong. I have learned a lot on my own and I have made a lot of changes in how I approach food. I just haven't been making progress # wise. Healthy…Continue

So last week I posted about the frustrations of the scale so this morning I stepped on to the scale that I have been using for over a year and it said I was one weight which I really questioned so I stepped on my husbands withings smart scale and it was like a 6 lb difference. So I have decided to just continue with the withings scale as that seems to be more accurate than the one that I was using.
As for the rest of the week eating okay exercise only if you count running around and…Continue
So I found out on Monday of this week that my boss was taking me to Boston on Business Wed-Fri of this week. So that meant I had 7 meals out over the last couple days...I usually WI on Friday morning but because I wasn't home I couldn't. I would have when I woke up this morning, but I totally forgot because I had to get up and out early for my daughter's basketball playoff game. So I'm thinking tomorrow I will step on, to see if my choices were good enough. I did well with my choices. …Continue
Over the last 4 years on Weight Watchers, I have been on the road quite a bit--vacations, visitng family, etc. I wouldn't say that I have it all figured out, but I have learned a few tips along the way that at least help minimize the damage.
1. Keep 2 out of 3 meals a day "normal".--This is different depending on whether I am staying with family or in a hotel, but I try to keep my breakfast and lunch the same as I would eat at home. It's fairly easy to throw a box of oatmeal in my…Continue
Tonight I have to bake 3 cakes for an event tomorrow. Then tomorrow I need to cook taco stuff for 30 people. Plus, regular cooking for family in between.
Don't you just wish you could give up food like people give up other addictions?
I remember a story that I posted a long time ago here, when I first started blogging about 8 years ago (different account then...wish I had kept it...probably should read what really helped and hurt me back then in my weight loss journey). Anyway,…
So I stepped on the scale on Sunday it said I was up like 7 lbs and then stepped on it again this morning and it was down 4 lbs from Sunday. It's so frustrating being so attached to that thing and so dependent on what its going to say! Last week I ate poorly and exercised to little and Mother Nature is not helping matters. Like Erica said bring on spring!!
I am on day 3...for the 300th time at least. But, I have never given up hope in myself that I can become healthy again. So I am back. Again. And I hope this time it all really works for me. I am using the "one day at a time" method. I am trying to make little changes that work really well for me in the long run.
Today, someone where I work (as a volunteer) made delicious cookies. I decided I could have one. She had 4 amazing flavors. In the past I would have tried all of them (some more…
