Happy New Year.... almost.. lol

Hey! I just wanted to hop on and blog real quick. New Years always makes me think of resolutions of course. I will list mine.

1~ Love me more!

2~ Start spending more time with my family and friends!

3~ Start working out 6 days a week again.

(This isn't impossible or even hard considering I don't have a job now. I just need to get back into the habit!)

4~ Tryyyy to eat more veggies. I am horrible at it. I'll admit

Happy new year!

I just had to take some time and spend a few minutes on the blog before I get rolling today.

It has been a whirlwind of a vacation so far. My brother and his family are in town and I am spending time with them. We're doing LOTS of walking but I haven't been to the gym for a week. I am going after this to get a quick workout in before getting ready for the new year. We are throwing a small new year's party which I'm excited about. I really enjoy entertaining but we haven't done much of…

Snowed In

We are officially having a blizzard here.  The snow is coming down steadily.  I have to admit, it's beautiful, but I can't help but thinking it's ruining any NYE plans we had.  Oh, well.  Sitting at home in my pjs isn't so bad.

I weighed in yesterday--two more pounds to go of the Prednisone gain I had.  I am guessing that those last two pounds are probably more than just water weight; I probably gained them from all the Christmas celebrating.

I ran yesterday…

6 Weeks to Onderland???

All right.  I admit it.  That goal MAY be a little crazy considering I'm really not even close right now, however, I do know how I tend to lose weight when I'm on my game and I needed a goal for my birthday which is exactly six weeks away.  So for now I'm going with crazy and shooting for Onderland by then!

Too scared to weigh

I work at a university, so I had an entire week off while the campus was closed. Including two more days for NYE and Jan 1. That part is awesome. The bad part is I spent that week holiday partying and holiday feasting mainly on too much sugar. I feel my jeans getting tighter and I know exactly why. I don't want to step on the scale and see just how much farther I've slid.

The saying goes, "there's nothing to it but to do it". I'm feeling that right now, because in all the…

Starting New Year's resolution a day early

Today I weighed in to assess how much I have gained after the last week? or so of sweets, mashed potatoes, delicious ham, chocolate covered everything, and lots of wine. I was 162.7 this morning. When I saw that number I sort of freaked out but then realized quickly that the only way to do anything about the number on the scale (and the way my jeans feel like they shrunk 2 sizes) is to do something. now. So I had a great day. I have to work at our church on Sunday mornings but I got up early…

Looking ahead

When do you like to cook-I have found that I like to cook early afternoon-If I cook later then I get to hungry and just want something fast and maybe not so healthy-so tonight it is a chicken stir-fry-lots of veggies-May husband did the chopping and I then cook-it is a good thing-today was a good day-the voice was gone-you know the one-the one that tells you that you need to eat-crap-so today I ate a ton of veggies and alot of water and moving-cleaning is a great way to get in my steps-so I…

Amazing 4lbs this week!!!!

This week I ran a lot. I also had something called "The hamburger run" on Friday where we run to a dive bar hang out and eat a burger then go home.  I also had a little thing called "Christmas" and I also ate at Marys Market this week which is known for their confections.  But guess what I did it in a balanced way and lost…

My Story

Hi my name is Nada and I'm very excited to share my journey with you guys. Okay to make a long story short hopefully. I'm on this journey to lose weight, I have been dieting "sort of" since last May. I started off with 203.8 and now I'm 186.4. I know I could've done better but my journey is like band adhesive, "I get stuck" Like a band aid I can't just rip off the weight I'm gonna go through a rough patch. I go to the gym this is my third time signing up since last year, and I find comfort…

Impulse Purchase

Despite all the changes I experienced last year, I really am not an impulsive person by nature.  Especially when it comes to money.  I'm an accountant.  Born and raised.  I consider the financial implications of every purchase regardless of how small it may be... Which is why I surprised even myself the other day with an impulse purchase unlike any I've ever heard of before.

I was out and about when I realized there was a brand new WW Center open right around the corner from…

A Fresh Start: Setting Goals

Starting off a new week; there's just something about the ability to start over.  You all know what I mean, right?  Being able to start fresh, with new motivation, a new outlook, a new start.  And I can do it each and every day.  :)

Now that the holidays are (for the most part) over, I feel like I have some new motivation.  Time to kick those 3 lbs from the prednisone to the curb.  Time to kick the last 50 lbs or so I want to lose to the curb, too, but that's going to take…

I've been going to the Y with my friend Kaile all of Dec. on the treadmill  at least 3 days a week. I take that treadmill on a 3.7 average..will bump it up to 4.0 at times like for a cpl songs...then back down to 3.7 or 3.5 til I catch my breath. I also…

what is your plan?

I need a plan-do I set goals-are they food goals or weight goals-bag that weight goals do not work for me-I set exercise goals and that I like and know 30min walk done -get on bike 30min done-there is my hour-but food goals-weight goals -I have a hard time-what do I choose-how do I go about it-I block out food goals-maybe because food is still acting as my friend-my comfort-my "don't ask questions" buddy-the voice that tells me to eat this it will make you better-feel better-be better-I hate…

$20? Anyone?

Roni's New Years Diet Bet has really taken off! Lose 4% of your starting weight and receive 4% of the pot! Last I checked it was up to $3840! ( do the math! It's a tidy chunk of change and a heck of a return on $20!)

Roni's New Years' Diet Bet

( Holy Crap! Do I sound like a sp*mmer or what?! lol) Seriously. It's gotten me way excited to do some damage to my scale numbers.

Christmas/New Year's celebrations, staying on track

I hope everyone has had a wonderful time with family in the last week. We sure have. Spent time with great grandparents, parents, siblings, and everyone had a peaceful and happy time. It really has been one of our best Christmases so far. Our kitchen flooded a few weeks ago, and the laminate wood we had in there was ruined. We had been talking about replacing it with a nice tile, so this has been a blessing for us. My parents gave us cash for Christmas to use towards the flooring purchase,…

When it's time to change, you've got to rearrange...

...moving on to what I'm going to be...

Hey.  I was a Brady Bunch kid.  What can I say?  In case you weren't raised on the Brady Bunch, at one point they recorded that song and it was my most favorite episode.

The end of the year is always a time of reflection for me.  I think about the experiences I have had during the past year and I look forward to what the next year holds for me.  I am not typically a person who likes change, but last year I stepped all…

The Little Things

Today, I am thankful for the little things.  Like sleeping in.  And the light snowfall we got last night that dusted everything so prettily this morning.  Or a hug from my husband upon waking up.  Today is a good day.

I still have 3 lbs to lose from the 7 I gained from the Prednisone the doctor had me on.  The good news is the rash is gone.  I still have no idea what caused my allergic reaction, but I hope I don't get it again!

I am getting back on track with…

Cookie for Breakfast

Yes, I am eating a cookie for breakfast while writing a blog post. Shame on me! Oh well, it's done and I only ate one. Strangely enough I have no desire for another. In the past once I got started I couldn't stop, but thankfully I am turning my eating habits around. I also felt the need to indulge a bit prior to starting my reset on Tuesday. I have been pretty good about not going crazy with the eating this past week. If I put on weight I will only have that much more to lose and we all know…
