Hey! I just wanted to hop on and blog real quick. New Years always makes me think of resolutions of course. I will list mine.

It has been a whirlwind of a vacation so far. My brother and his family are in town and I am spending time with them. We're doing LOTS of walking but I haven't been to the gym for a week. We are officially having a blizzard here. The snow is coming down steadily. I have to admit, it's beautiful, but I can't help but thinking it's ruining any NYE plans we had. Oh, well. Sitting at home in my pjs isn't so bad.
I weighed in yesterday--two more pounds to go of the Prednisone gain I had. I am guessing that those last two pounds are probably more than just water weight; I probably gained them from all the Christmas celebrating.

All right. I admit it. That goal MAY be a little crazy considering I'm really not even close right now, however, I do know how I tend to lose weight when I'm on my game and I needed a goal for my birthday which is exactly six weeks away. I work at a university, so I had an entire week off while the campus was closed. Including two more days for NYE and Jan 1. That part is awesome. Today I weighed in to assess how much I have gained after the last week? or so of sweets, mashed potatoes, delicious ham, chocolate covered everything, and lots of wine. I was 162.7 this morning. When I saw that number I sort of freaked out but then realized quickly that the only way to do anything about the number on the scale (and the way my jeans feel like they shrunk 2 sizes) is to do something. now. Alright maybe this will work, I am editing...? So I am still maintaining at 170 I hit 169 one day but that doesn't really count I guess since I was only one day right!? I've been going to the Y with my friend Kaile all of Dec. on the treadmill at least 3 days a week. Today, I am thankful for the little things. Like sleeping in. And the light snowfall we got last night that dusted everything so prettily this morning. Or a hug from my husband upon waking up. Today is a good day.
I still have 3 lbs to lose from the 7 I gained from the Prednisone the doctor had me on. The good news is the rash is gone. I still have no idea what caused my allergic reaction, but I hope I don't get it again!

Yes, I am eating a cookie for breakfast while writing a blog post. Shame on me! Oh well, it's done and I only ate one. Strangely enough I have no desire for another.
