Scientists have shown that each individual color sends a message to our brain and impacts our moods in different ways.
1. Red- Stimulates action, so if you want to be a go-getter, wear red. But beware as red also stimulates the appetite, so keep it out of the dining room.
2. Yellow- promotes optimism.
3. Orange- stimulates action.
4. Green- is relaxing and calming, however you should not paint your bathroom green as the reflection on your skin will give your subconscious… Continue

Woohoo! I stuck to my meal plan for the last three days and I feel so much better than I have been in weeks!
I say this despite a fight that broke out at cheerleading practice, having a lie told about me by one of the cheerleaders, and basically having the same girl call me a fraud. Ugh. But I got through it and I feel better now. And I didn't use food to make me feel better. A good gripe session with the hubby and my mom, plus some snuggle time with the puppy and all is well with my… Continue

So today I had some unnecessary junk food. Gah! I made it so good until about 7 pm tonight. I didnt get to workout at the gym bc of school. Life is really going hard this week. I am going to do a workout video and get up and workout in the morning.
It's not about beating yourself up, it's about getting back up.
I am in a learning process. Learning to handle stressful situations differently. Last week I ran when I was stressed this week I need to channel my inerself from… Continue

Ok, I'm back! Last week was the epitomy of crazy. This week will be a little hectic, but manageable. Once I get through this week I will literally have TWO assignments left for the semester....to be completed in two weeks. I think I can handle that. :-)
So Thanksgiving....yea....about that....
Actual Thanksgiving Day was a success. I missed my workouts last week. I'm not going to overly beat myself up for one week. Food wise I was fine on Thanksgiving...probably even a… Continue

I have been home all day, been a lazy day. So I finally decided to do something, worked out for 30 min on the ellipitcal. My feet felt numb, the balls of my feet. Not sure if it's the pressure from the way I was standing or my shoes. Then we went to town and went by Burger King, and I had grilled chicken, plain and just a few bites of fries. Good day since we ate out tonight. I had 1665 cal, 34% fat, just a tad too much fat but it could have been alot worse so I am proud!

Over the past 2 years or so, ive struggled greatly. Every time i try and try to do what I
need to do. Something happens to get in the way... or I try but not hard enough. Recently
when I decided that I needed to fix myself, I couldn't figure out HOW to do it.
HOW do you get back on the wagon that is speeding at 100 mph?? Well, I figured it out!
You just..... do. You go. You jump!!! Start TRACKING again.. no matter what you eat, TRACK.
And do it a FULL day. Thats… Continue

Today I decided to commit to 25 days of healthy, clean eating. Ive been doing Ok...but not my best. I enjoyed a few too many days around Thanksgiving of eating whatever (in moderation) and its time to get back on track. I havent weighed myself for a week or so and without knowing my weight, I know Ive got to change those bad habits now before they get the best of me. My therapist encouraged me to not weigh myself for while. She told me that she has noticed that when I have a bad week, it is… Continue

I just weighed myself and I managed to stay the same during a week long vacation with my family. Despite pumpkin pie and other various treats, I stayed the same! I am so happy and encouraged that I made some good choices. My sister and her husband are VERY healthy eaters (and avid exercisers), so I'm sure that helped.
Also, instead of trying to do WW on my own, I re-joined WW Online and plan on really getting to know the program well and using all of the tools available to me. I'm… Continue

This week was almost a total loss. Turkey day was fun, lots of turkey. I did good with following my plan at first, got in a work out, ate according to the plan, but then when dinner came I ended up throwing the plan out the window, had a soda, many desserts, and wine. Oops. Friday I started off better as well, got a work out in, even went for a long run after doing day 2 of the 30 day shred, but then I got a phone call that my grandma died. So…the emotional eater in me came out. I didn’t work… Continue

My weight has crept up yet again. I'm ready to take full action and turn this around! I'm not wanting to have to repeat this whole entire process. This is such a hard time of year, which is why I need to get going in the right direction! I'm sitting here doing Cyber Monday shopping & I'm looking at nike+ and an ipod to help motivate me. I should be at the gym right now I promised myself that I'd do go today!!! Why I'm having such a hard time getting there is beyond me! I'll keep you posted… Continue

yesterday's birthday party was bad news. there was a giant tray of chik fil a nuggets, cake, and ice cream. i ate way too much, and couldn't possibly even track it.
breakfast today was a pumpkin pancake, and we hit a chinese buffet for lunch. i mostly ate hot and sour soup and chicken with broccoli. no snacking all afternoon! dinner was a smart choice. we ordered in thai food. i picked something called "bangkok jay" which ended up being steamed veggies and tofu over lettuce and cucumbers,… Continue

Well, I would like to say I did a fabulous job of making good choices throughout this long holiday weekend - not the case. I did have a great Thanksgiving and weekend. We painted Friday-Sunday and got a lot accomplished. Had a date with my husband Friday night and we had yummy sushi. Saturday night got together with several friends and the kids played. Painted today and got some chores done. I feel happy about all that we got done and the good times just wish I had not indulged so much. The… Continue

I haven't posted for a long time, but things have really been going well. I have 15-20 lbs of baby weight (depending on if you are counting to my WW goal or my personal goal). So last week, I signed back up at WW and went to my first meeting. The night before Thanksgiving...crazy! It felt so good to walk back into a meeting. There were only 3 other people at the meeting, but I still felt so much support. I actually worked as a receptionist for that meeting before I got pregnant this second… Continue

I feel so crappy today, I took some slepping medicine last night plus something for vertigo and I am telling you, it really does a number on you. I was watching the Suze Orman show last night and she had some behind the scenes clips of when she visisted the Biggest Loser Ranch for their talk on their financial health.
It really told me that I need to get started with my own healthy plan because she and Jillian Micheals said that they are both connected. Being Healthy and… Continue

I have a ridiculous amount of homework and studying to do this week because of finals next week, but I want to get in at least 4 work outs, 4 circuits and about 1,500 calories a day. I tried not counting calories, but it really does seem to work best for me. I want to be down about 1.5-2 lbs this week (might be unrealistic, but we will see). I want to be in the 200's before the New Year. So I need to lose 9 lbs in 5 weeks. Yikes! We will see if that happens, if not I am okay with that as well.… Continue

Man, I have missed this site so much. I am recommiting myself today for the 18th time but that's ok!!!! My weight is still 206.2 as it was before so I am not changing my measurements or anything on my page. I start a new job on Tuesday that requires me to get up at 4:30am so I am going to have to workout in the evenings. I will be off Fri-Sun so I could workout those days. I want to be under 200 by Jan 1 so that's my first small goal. I would love to start the new year under 200 lbs.
