So after months and months of training and trying to run longer and longer I was able to run a full mile yesterday. Oh my goodness it felt so amazing to just keep going. Normally it is run 3 minutes, walk 2 minutes, repeat over and over again. But just these last two weeks I have really been challenging myself and trying to overcome the mental and physical block. Just last week or the week before I was able to do .7 miles straight and yesterday morning something got into me and I did it. I… Continue

I had a great but long day at work where I ate:
1/2 c plain yogurt topped with some pom seeds
1 yummy cup of juicy mango
A whole wheat pita filled with spinach leaves & Garlic & Herb Laughing Cow
I had a wonderful lunch & snackies
After work I worked out & decided to take my time. I did 40 minutes on the bike going up hills & 10 minutes on the Eliptical. Plus 5 glorious minutes of stretching. I burned about 270 calories.

But I'm blogging instead :)
Today was a pretty good eating day, actually! (except for a wheat-thin incident... let's not talk about that LOL) For some reason, though, I feel really bloated and gross and I'm not sure why. It's so frustrating!!! Oh well. Hopefully I'll feel better in the morning!
Alright so I'm going to step out of my comfort zone right now and do something I never ever ever ever thought I would do before. It may not seem like a big deal to some of you… Continue

I'm so happy to announce our new member map
! It's not integrated so it won't "know" who you are but you can use the same picture as your profile so people can easily find ya!
I also edited the main navigation a bit too. It was getting WAY to long so I grouped some common things. You'll notice under members you'll find the map, the member list, blogs, groups and photos. I also added quick access to all the forum rooms as well.

I went for a run...with only a little while to spare before darkness. It's my first run since the Turkey Trot 5K. I had never run 5K before the race, but I was able to run the whole thing...albeit, slowly! But today I went out to run. It started out pretty good...the first mile was easy...it was right about the start of the second mile that it began to get tough for me, but then I settled into my rhythm. A friend who was a cross country runner in college had given me some tips about running… Continue

Well, technically I've lost weight. I gained some weight after the stomach flu and I was up a few pounds, but I weighed myself today and even with the Thanksgiving overeating (I'll admit it), I still lost some weight. Now I'm back where I was the day after I got over the stomach flu.
It doesn't look as if I'll make my goal by Christmas. Even if I lose 10 lbs, I'll be glad. I think if I can keep the chocolate candy and the coconut macaroons away, I'll be good. Macaroons are one of my… Continue

I was just looking at my weight chart and realized that the last time I weighed this little was back in September. I was at a weight loss of 37 lbs just after the Labour Day weekend and since then, it has been up and down all the way until this weekend's WI. It has taught me how valuable it is to stick with this weight loss thing. You cannot give up. I have given up in the past and just gained all my weight back. I can't do this; not this time.
While I almost wanted to throw in the… Continue

I find myself wanting to grab something to eat for no reason. I am visiting my parents with my daughter and just hanging out but not doing much and just find that I am constantly looking for something to munch on so I've made myself a cup of tea and have come to the computer as an outlet. I hope it works. I seem to always want sweets when I'm here and my mother doesn't help in that department since I see her as a food pusher who likes to eat, but does not like to eat alone. Does anyone know… Continue

Hope you all had a nice Holiday weekend!
Today was a typical Sunday for us (minus the church thing...we skipped). The hubby and I were up earlier than the kids so ran to get groceries quick. After all of those were put away, I decided to throw together a Chilled Broccoli Salad so I had some in the fridge for the week!
Next I hopped on the treadmill and completed a 3.35 mi run. Of course I was just bragging to someone that since I updated my ipod software, I hadn't lost a… Continue

I keep hearing about a new weight watchers plan, that is supposed to start here in the States in a week or so. Have you heard anything about it? The hints I have heard sound like it has something to do with core??
The picture above is from a… Continue

I've decided to cut back on sugar. Sugar is my weakness and I really want to feel better and cut out empty calories from sugar. Starting today I'm logging all my food intake and really reining in on what's going into by body. I'm usually really good about eating healthy, but something is going awry lately and I'm sick of it. Updates to come.........

o.k. so I'm finally back! the last 3 days have not been ideal but they have not been off the handle either, plus the scale says, no damage done so I'm thrilled. I haven't made any progress of course and still feel "stuck" in this weight range that I can't seem to make move in the last month, but non the less, I feel pretty good about my overall choices during thanksgiving! I have been eating too much bread and pumpkin loaf, but it has been all whole wheat so can't beat myself up too much!

I have NOT been eating very well the past 4 days. My food choices have been well below par, and I'm sure it will be reflected in my weigh-in tomorrow. I had been doing soo well for a few solid weeks before that, so it's a little disappointing but it's alright. At least I've stayed on plan!*
I'm incredibly stressed out right now with school. I have a massive test tomorrow and then next week I have 5 exams, then school is DONE for the semester. So I will be stressed until then! I'm… Continue

I did it. I lost 100 pounds by Thanksgiving. I'm so excited. I gained like one pound after Thanksgiving but I'll work that out today and tomorrow. I'm just soooo excited. I only have 48 more to go to reach goal. That sounds way easier than 150:) One of my husband's relatives thought that my hubby had come to Thanksgiving with a different woman other than his wife. He just thought he wasn't up on the gossip. Boy was he embarrassed when he found out I was the same woman:)

Good morning lovelies!
We had plans to meet the boys entire family for breakfast this morning, but we overslept & turned off the alarm! We hurried out of the house & went to Ihop (oops!), Perkins (double oops), & then the wrong Village Inn (Oh my god, really) before arriving an hour late! They had order for us & the food had arrived right as we had.
3 eggs whites no butter
2 pieces of white bread no butter
bowl of fruit
1 pumpkin pancake with… Continue

So today i weighed in and am down 8 lbs in 6 days!! including a holiday which is pretty good!! and i also measure today and i have so far lost 3 inches off of my body which is pretty amazing!! Yet i still feel bummed out about the weight, i know the best programs are those that are slow and steady but for me, i'm used to loosing a ton of weight in the first two weeks and then quitting so maybe taking it slow is a good thing and maybe i need to look it at it that way instead of being down on… Continue

I worked last night and (as nurses often do) we ordered delivery. Pizza and Pasta! It is so hard to get started, but I have to. I will take some pictures and post them. I think that will help motivate me, I just got home from the night shift so I guess I'll get some sleep.

I have been very busy and haven't journaled. I have gotten at least 64 oz water in each day. Geting back COMPLETELY on program today. Goal is at least 128 oz water in today. And journal, journal, journal. I weigh in on Thursday, didn't get to last week due to Thanksgiving. Not sure what it will show but I am ready for it and to go forward. It is 6:30 am right now and starting on water. People are starting to notice a weight loss and this is when I always lose my motivation. I am going to push… Continue

Well, I am making my mini goal of not going up (that much) but can hardly wait for the weekend to be done and get back to normal. Thursday was Thanksgiving, Friday shopping, tonight snowmobile club dinner and tomorrow another Thanksgiving. Ouch! To top it off, last Saturday night I stepped on a hornet in our house and it stung my toe. Now, your're probably thinking WHAT??? Let me explain by saying that we heat our house with a wood stove so bring in wood to burn. A hornet was on a piece of wood… Continue
