WEEK 7 of BC DAY 1

Holy cow - week 7 already - that's really great for me because usually I give up after 4 weeks.  I am glad that I am keeping up with it.

We started out with warm ups as always, then we did ladders for about 15 minutes or so - that is always rough on the arches and shins, but I made it though all of them except the last two.

6 stations 2x each.

1. Kettle bell side lunges.

2. Figure 8…

Week 3 Day 6: doing okay

Did good today stayed within calories. I ran two miles since no biking. I planned on doing the same tomorrow but I have to work early so only one mile and Pilates.  I'm eating more calories like my body is asking even though I hate it. And my body is loving it. My weight is finally dropping. No weigh in again until Wednesday but I'm feeling good about it. I also do measurements that day. I hope you all are doing well keep up the good work.

Goals

So I have been thinking over the past couple of days about setting some goals.

For the next couple of days I've decided to focus on cutting down on drinking tea and coffee.  It would not be unusual for me to drink about 5-6 cups a day.  Considering I put two sugars in a coffee and one in tea, all that is going to add up.  The second part of this goal is to drink more water.  Replace the tea and coffee with glasses of water.

I know keeping a food diary is useful…

Restaurant learning experiences, snacking all day

Yesterday the hubby and I snuck out for a mini date night- he wanted to go to Claim Jumper's for beer and wings. I have been working so hard lately that I told him I was going to let it be a cheat meal, which I had a hard time doing  without guilt! I miraculously got over it ;-) and we got all our old favorites: calamari, wings, and shared a burger and fries- after all that food I was stuffed, he wanted to get dessert and I had no willpower so we shared a really rich chocolate baked dessert.…

The dark side of 0 point foods.

I do not feel empowered by carrot sticks. NO matter how many I eat I still feel hungry. But I don't have enough points to eat anything I want to eat so here I sit with a large bag of carrots in sadness.

Weekly Check-In

Another week down, another pound down. I'm 4 weeks into maintenance and feeling good. I had a good week this week with sticking to my habits that I know work (good food choices and working out) while not feeling super stressed about those two things. That is my goal--to become more relaxed in this lifestyle, realizing that there will be fluctuations, but I know how to handle them.  I am still slightly over goal weight due to my gain last week, but I am confident that I will be back to goal…

Week 3

Today was my 3rd visit with my life coach. And I am feeling amazing. I have seen a couple huge changes in my relationship with husband as well as my relationship with food. Today focused on how certain words can make your brain go haywire. Like for instance he asked me what I thought when he said sugar detox and what that would mean for me. Like normal I was like oh a sugar detox no problem but as the hour went on all wanted was to go get a big chocolate bar or a large chocolate frappee' or…

A simple word change goes a long way!

I read a blog post about the difference between using the phrase "I can't" and "I don't" and how this simple change in self-talk can help us stick to our goals.  You can read the article here.

Using the phrase "I don't" helped 8 out of 10 subjects stick to their goals versus 1 out of 10 who used the phrase "I can't".  That is remarkable!

So I found my…

Great NSV but still dwelling on the Scale

Yesterday I ran week 5 day 3 of the C25K program.  It was the first time I ran unbroken for 20 minutes.  My split times were 9’39”/mi I had tears in my eyes when I finished with those numbers, was so excited I forgot to stretch afterwards! It was on a flat surface (high school track), but still!!! See, when I first started to do the program, I thought my goal would be a 12 minute mile, that is what I seem to remember from my days as an athlete in high school.  Then when I got into the…

My unofficial WI

Today is my check in day, as I like to be check in after the weekend.  It's good to have it in my head that  I'll be facing the scale!  My weight didn't change but my body fat went down 1 point.   I'm actually really surprised that I didn't have a loss this week because I've been working out every single day and I've really amped up the intensity of my workouts.  I'm running more often and for longer!  My eating has been spot on and my water intake has been pretty consistent!  So I guess I'm…

Restart

Hi everyone ! So where do I start...

I've discovered Roni's blog few weeks ago and read it over and over. It's a kind of success story that you want to be yours. I'm Lina, french-indian 31 yo. As far as I can remember, I've never been in a good shape, always have a few pounds extra. But after high school, I left my parents house and starts living on my own while I was studying far away from them.

And the nightmare began. Even if I always like to cook, I've always been…

The Trouble With The Truth...

...is that sometimes it hurts.

Last night my husband and I had a brutally honest talk about our relationship.  And it hurt.  A lot.  For those of you who aren't up to speed  last year I had a whirlwind romance that led to marriage and five step children (two of whom we have custody of full time).  I fell hard.  We married fast.  And it came with A LOT of drama.  From our kids.  From…

Finally reached my first weight-loss goal!!

I have finally reached the dress size that has been my weight-loss goal for many months. It feels great! All I can say is it has been worth the wait, as I know I have done it the healthy way and I have increased my fitness levels in the process. Some weeks I would wonder if the centimeters would ever shed, but now I'm seeing real results.

To reach my goal I tried and tested various things... some worked and others didn't. My exercise ball ended up sitting unused in the corner…

Before and After Pictures

Finally found a picture of myself pre ditching the weight and a recent one right before I headed out to the gym. Wow!  What a difference.  And the main thing is how much better I feel.

Skipped WI

So I skipped my WI this morning.  Mentally, I was not prepared.  For some reason when I weighed myself this morning, I was up over last week even though I have been on point all week.  In fact, I got TEN AP's yesterday and I started C25K week 2.  I think maybe it was because I had a steak for dinner last night.  Either way, I skipped weighing in because I cannot wrap my hands around that scale telling a gain.  Grrrrr!!!  Maybe it was because my little friend was wrapping up for the month.…

Week 6 of BC - DAY 4.

Why hello there folks! I did go to boot camp yesterday morning at 530 AM! I know I'm crazy but I really just wanted to get it done and out of the way for the day.  Saturday morning boot camps are almost an hour long.  This was a hard boot camp.

We started off with warm ups inside - there was only 5 of us - which I like because its more like personal training then :)

We started out with the bands that go around your ankles and did exercises with it - that was about 10 minutes. …
