So I joined the site with the hopes of finding some great advice and friends along the way. I would like to lose between 40 and 50 lbs and I am not sure where to even start! I work full time and go to school full time, so I find it difficult to eat healthy and work out, which is why I gained so much weight in the first place...to many days and nights eating fast food or whatever was quick to grab on the go, along with not working out at all. I am making a promise to myself to change my ways and…

So last night was weigh in and I was only down 0.2lbs. I was VERY disappointed considering I did 30DS level 1 x2 and level 2 x1 last week, plus a 90 minute Bikram yoga class on Friday night and a 60 minute spin class on Monday night. I was super choked at weigh in! I even made it a goal to eat vegetables at lunch and supper every single day! And I did, except for Friday night. The only time I went over on points was Saturday night when my in-laws made pupusas (a stuffed tortilla with cheese and…

Reflections from 5 years ago:
I am God's creation. I am His child.
I want to glorify Him in all I do. That's why I am determined to use my weight loss to inspire others. My body is a temple from the Lord. I did not lose the weight the first time because of how others saw me. I was very unhappy with myself. And my being unhappy with myself caused my relationship with Him to suffer. So I turned to the Lord and asked for His guidance, and then I joined Weight… Continue

That's how I felt this evening about exercise. I wasn't that excited. I wasn't enthusiastic. It was more of an attitude like "I have to do this or I'll feel really guilty." So I jogged a fast two miles tonight (because I just wanted it over with) and did my 30DS (laborious), but it's done, and I'm glad I did.
I've set a goal on the scale for about a month away from today. I guess I don't really think I can do it, so I'm sort of puzzled as to why I felt compelled tonight. It's my…

I've had a pretty good day. I got up early and cleaned the bathroom, did some laundry, and swept the rest of the house. I'm *finally* almost done cleaning my room. When I got back from my internship in Maine everything was coated in dust. Unfortunately, I had to hit the ground running with school committments, so things just kept piling on top of the dust. I'm not about down to that layer of dust and will be able to dust/vacumn tonight. Whew! (My reward for managing to get this in amid school…

I was doing soooo well. I was so proud of all the decisions that I was making. I was drinking plenty of water, getting lots of exercise. Oh it was fabulous. I felt good about myself. I haven't felt that in a long time. I started on the 15th of Sept. and had been doing well for 2 weeks. That is the longest that I have stuck with a "diet" in FOREVER.
I had a bad day. And another. One morning, I slept through the alarm. My kids start school rrrreally early! So I wake them up and they…

I had a bad week last week. I owned up to it and vowed to learn from it and use it for motivation. I did exactly that this week. I had an ENTIRE week of good food choices and working out. I don't have one "regret" from this past week. I knew during this week I wanted to be away from the scale so that it wouldn't control my emotions, but I have been looking forward to my weigh in all week because of the good choices I have been making.
Now my weigh in is in the morning and I'm feeling…

*******This is my latest entry in my actual blog, which can be viewed here: quest4amile.blogspot.com. But in the interest of trying to meet people on this network, I'm going to start posting my blog entries here, too. Thanks, y'all!*******
Well, I stuck to my diet today, as hard as it was. I got soooo hungry this afternoon, but I overcame ... just kept thinking about Thin Auburn.
So at 4:00 I started jogging on the treadmill, and due to some unusual circumstances, I got…

Which is a little hard for me to admit. I don't know how I have gotten so far off track, without actually getting off track. I know that doesn't really make sense, but it does to me. Back in July I joined livestrong.com, which is a huge asset to me losing weight. I will not say otherwise, even though since I started actually tracking my calories, I have lost less weight on average than before I joined. Even before I joined, I changed my eating just enough to make it harder for me to drop the…

Well we are moving in 2 weeks. There was a house in town that I heard might be available. We were on the list, but I really thought there were lots of people ahead of us, so I didn't think much of it. But we got the call last night: It's ours! We are just renting still, until we can save money and figure out where we want to build a home. This home is going to be a lot nicer than where we are. It has an extra bedroom, a 2-car garage, new carpet, and a nice big kitchen. Yippee! We could wait…

I had my weigh in yesterday. 178.0. That was good enough for a 1.8lb loss. That is now my new lowest weight.
We went shopping yesterday. I needed some new tops and pants to wear around the house for winter. At first I was going to grab the size large pants. Then I held up the mediums and thought they looked like they would fit. I also figured if they didn't that they would within a couple of weeks. So I bought the mediums without thinking twice. This has been tough for me because I…

It is so nice outside; I was so excited to be out there on my balcony doing my exercise routine this morning. I love the crisp morning air in the fall. It smells so clean and fresh, it is absolutely invigorating. I made sure to fill out my
strength training log as I completed each exercise. As many of you know I am rebuilding my strength on my…

(the 100-step jog I'm referring to is from my post from last week,
which can be read here)
The past week has been really good. I have been making good decisions all over the place, the most recent of which was the decision not to even
look at the dozen Krispy Kreme donuts that my mother-and-father-in-law brought to us yesterday. Donuts are my absolute kryptonite; they can de-rail…

Wow.
I just finished watching the Biggest Loser and I am so inspired by Sean and Antoine right now. Not only are they amazing people who are willing to sacrifice themselves to give someone else a chance, but they have done SO well at home! They look like completely different people. That episode is definitely going to keep me on the right track for a while. And the coolest thing is that since I obviously don’t get the Biggest Loser on my cable here, I purchased a season pass (it was…

Holy crap! First off, it's 3:30am and I have already been up for 1 1/2 hours. YIKES! I couldn't sleep anymore and decided to catch up on BTL. This week is crazy already...
Let's start with the good stuff: I accomplished a triple whammy with this week's weigh in! I have officially lost 20+ pounds. I have officially lost 10% of my starting weight. I broke into the 160s (barely, but I'm there at 169.8) WOOHOO!
Now the so-so stuff (not BTL related, skip this… Continue

I'm up to 5 losing weeks in a row. It's been far, far too long for that to be the case - more often it's been going in the wrong direction. I was down 1.8 lbs this week and I'm pretty happy about that. I've got a few things going on this week that I'm worried about - the first happened the night before weigh-in, we had a cookout/meeting at our house. I did well in some areas and not so great in others. On the pro side - I did stay away from all the chips and munchy typ things, I used low fat…

• My soda craving (which is merely sugar) return
• My cousin came back from his tour last week – yippee
• I sliced my ankle open
• Fell down the stairs a month later trying to walk on the bad…

Accomplishments
1. Exercised 60% of cardio goal.
2. Exercised 20% of strength training goal.
3. Stopped eating before 7pm on 6/7 days.
4. Getting fruits, veggies, and calcium everyday.
Unfortunately, with the previous week's overeating (ranges from 2800-4000 calories), I gained about 6 lbs last month. I knew there were only so many days I could eat like that and not see damage....... On a more positive note.... now that I am 15 weeks pregnant, my hunger has…
