Weekly Update 8/31

Weight - Down 1.4 pounds

Mood - Depressed & frustrated.

Food - Still eating too much. I am trying the OA eating plan. It is a good time since tomorrow is 9/1. For some reason I like to start fresh. The beginning of the month is a great start.

Exercise - the only consistent thing I am doing for my health.

Today is the Day

Ugh!!! Am getting nowhere fast. I won't even get on the scale because I'm don't want to know if I have crossed into the next decade. I have excuses galore, so many reasons why I "can't", "didn't", "couldn't", etc. None of them are valid (although they trick me into thinking they are, at the time!). The longer I procrastinate on getting started, the deeper I am digging myself into a hole, and the more I put my health at risk, the worse I feel, and so on, and so on......

So, I have to…

Love good results when working hard!!!

Well I have been working on my weight a long long time. Today at weight watchers meeting I hit a couple goals. 16 weeks of attending meetiNgs (I have been going since end of February/beginning of March but missed a few or was struggling and didn't go), hit my 10% and also hit 25 pounds GONE!!!!!

This really helps to stay motivated when you see good results. I'm really liking the exercise dvd 21 day fix its what I needed to change things up. -3.2 pounds this week. I bought myself some 6 lb… Continue

Boot Camp

My husband just left for work for the next five days and I am putting myself through a STRICT boot camp.  I have already given up soda ~ which is truly the most difficult thing for me ~ but I have not been motivated to take the next step in my journey yet.

Today that changes.  For the next five days I am eating a little something for breakfast, hitting the gym, and eating in.  Those are some big changes for me... I never eat anything until late in the day, having the kids…

My Y just added a new class and I'm loving it. It is half cardio spin (which I have never tried before) and half strength (tabata type) workout. The spin part is definitely something I am going to have to work on. It is a completely different kind of workout than I have ever done before. My quads are burning the whole time and I have a hard time when we have to stand for extended periods. The strength portion is a lot more what I am used to. We use resistance bands, agility ladder, and body…

I have a plan

I have been floundering. I am sick & tired of where I am at. A good friend recommended OA. It is simple & doable. Frankly I have an eating issue and I want to get over it. It starts with a 30 day program. I want to do a bit more preparing & I like to have a starting line. It is almost the 1st of August so I am going to start then. I am going to try to post for each of those 30 days. Has anyone here followed this diet? Feed back please if you have.

Beginning again

I have always been struggling with my weight. It's been an item on my list of things to take care of for quite some time not but I don't seem to get to it. In 2013 I Decided to join a dieting program which worked, I lost 40 lbs. the problem was that it wasn't practical. It was one of those that said you didn't have to work out and it restricted my food enormously that when I started eating again and on my own I gained most of it back.

So here I am trying to start over but in a more… Continue

Sacrifice Is a Necessary Evil

I have been thinking a lot about sacrifice.  In order to accomplish this monumental feat (and all weight loss is a monumental feat) you have to be willing to accept some degree of sacrifice.  Everyone's sacrifice is different.  I think it used to be easier for me to sacrifice.  My kids are older and demand more of my attention (I homeschool). My husband's job is more demanding and he is home  less to help.  So now I sacrifice my time, my sleep, my cleanliness of my home. (this one drives me…

Lesson #3: Hard Work Pays Off

But it is so stinking HARD!!!

It's been about a month and I am down 15 pounds  I have given up soda and it is been HARD but worth it.  I really need to focus on the next step of this journey ~ whatever that may be.  It feels great to have that weight off me, and I want to lose even more but I want to make sure that I do things the right way this time so I can make changes that will last me a lifetime.

Gratitude Time

I was reading my past posts. Ugh, are they negative. I really need to focus on the positive. So here are some good things that have happened to me lately.

1. My medical insurance kicked in 2/3 of my recent root-canal bill. (I figured it would be zero)

2. My check engine light came on. Took it in & it was a sensor of some sort. It fell under the warranty.

3. I have kept 8 pounds off for over 2 months.

I really want to focus on the good rather than the bad. I… Continue

Weekly Check in - 8/22

Weight - 0 pounds lost. At least I did not gain.

Exercise - jogged 2 times & walked 2 times. It rained 2 days so I misses 2 days, but it doesn't hurt to take a break.

Food - not the best week for sure. Ate too much snacks & not enough greens.

Mood - So tired of not getting anywhere with this damn weight loss. No loss erodes desire to keep going.

A Picture Surprise

Ever seen a picture of yourself and been surprised by what you see? Happened to me all the time at my highest weight. Don't get me wrong, I knew I was overweight and that I didn't like what I saw in the mirror--but it seemed like pictures were even worse. Seeing myself in pictures was one of the first motivators for me to let me know that I had to do something. For example, this picture taken after I had my son in 2012.…

update and 21 day fix?

Well I haven't been on here in a while. I have been so busy this summer that it's hard to make time for myself.

I've kept the weight off I lost perviously which is surprising but I think it's helped that I have been super active cause I know even though I'm a ww member the eating hasn't been the greatest. I am going to start going back to meetings this Saturday.

Also just purchased the 21 day fix. I haven't used containers for food yet mainly doing weight watcher until…

So Im back???..

Hopefully Ill stick to this now.. Im so tired of saying Im back on track when really i never stay on track. I cant even give a reason why Im not working out and lifting. Its gotta be some mental issue. Ive had a lot of things happen to me these past few months that I have fallen off.. AGAIN. My husband is an absolute alcoholic he is abusive when he is drunk and its taken a huge toll on me.. My friends that know me here might have read about this before, anyway he just got into a wreck while…

In maintenance but not by choice

I have been in maintenance but unlike Christy, I was never at goal. I have been at this weight for several months. I know why. I eat too much. Exercise is great, but it is not the answer. I have lost 30 pounds exercising but I have gained 30 pounds exercising so it has finally sunk in that it comes down to what I eat & how much I eat. I have to change this part. I have made good changes. I drink water, carbonated water, green tea & black coffee. No more soda, fruit juice or booze. I… Continue
