No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
Food triggers, stress triggers, it seems mine are one and the same. I had been doing well all day long, I followed my meal plan I set last night and then, my stress/anxiety/whatever spiked up. My sister had come over and she was about to leave. I didn't want to be alone. My mom wasn't coming over today and I don't know why, but I hate being alone with the kids. It's the thought, not the actual time spent with them. I do just fine, we have a routine and I'm a great care taker (a little…Continue
Whew! I completed week 2 of Insanity. Tonight's DVD also included an ab section. OMG it was a KILLER! This program is tough for sure. I've been sore too. But when you do these extreme workouts I think that is part of the deal. I think I need to buy better sneakers. A real light weight cross trainer would be good. I do use my rebounder for some of the jumping moves it is tough on knees and ankles. I've been sticking to my calories and not…Continue
What has happened?! The week has swept by so quickly. Not disappointed - just shocked!......I'm working on a big national project on top of my teaching load and a million other things so I've been going to bed SO late and not sleeping well at all.
Something happened. I have been doing really well with eating and exercise and I've lost all of my vacation weight for sure. On Wednesday, I called my husband on the way out of work and told him I was going to PF Chang's for dinner for wine…Continue
Love that folks were intrigued by a few of Dr. Barbara's Tough Rules!
From the comments on my post, folks were interested in hearing more about 3 rules:
2. Commit to a 3 month opt-out period
6. Eat one major meal each day
10. Have one acceptable treat per day
I wrote out the post, but then it was SO long I thought that was too much…Continue
I was feeling a little jealous when I saw the Palm tree lined jogging trail, but then I considered what I have...So I am posting pics of my Walking path
OK, so here is where I walk many days...at the end of our dead end road is a "Logging Road" . This is my chihuahua at the beginning of the trail. She is an awesome walking buddy--her stamina puts me to shame...When I stopped her to take this picture, she was like "What are we waiting for? Let's Go!"…Continue
Weighed myself this morning.. down 10.5lbs since 8/10 whoo..
So I did the stairs of doom on weds.. it was horrible! haha my legs were like jello by the time i got home.. not fun.. and now my foot is feeling the pain... A few months ago I hurt my foot.. one doc claimed stress fracture.. chiropracter thinks differently due to how i handled him twisting and poking on... was fine after 4 visits.. havent seen him in a few weeks.. I think I'm gonna have to go back in before we go…Continue
Gorgeous day here in Upstate NY...I got in a nice 40 minute walk this morning, pushing through my foot pain from my shot yesterday, and planned to go biking for about an hour. My 16yo son wanted to come, so I was thrilled! We drove to a convenient spot and got on the road...It was fantastic...Just the right blend of hills and flat, just a nice time. Then almost to the turn around point I ended up with a flat tire....ughh...no spare. It was caused by a little thorn--I have a hybrid bike so…Continue
What a gift from the cosmos! So, one more cup of coffee before little dog and I hit the road. Then nose to the grindstone for work.
I've started listening to an audiobook while I run. I had been concentrating on working on increasing my speed a few days a week for quite a few months there. But, I'm so over that now. Do you find yourself "changing" what you find engaging about your workouts? Is it boredom, distraction, laziness (speed work is HARD!)? I've finished my zombie…Continue
I did not get to blog the last few days. Life can just get in the way sometimes. Day 11 & 12 went great. As a matter of fact, I was able to do a few moving push ups. A move in my Insanity workout that I could do zero of last week. I am not able to keep up with the DVD's but I push myself everyday. I "feel" leaner, but my jeans remind me that I've still got a way to go. But it has only been 2 weeks. Let's see where I am at when it is 60…Continue
It is an Arch Trainer! 50 points to who said it first! Did it again today for 65 minutes, hot darn do I sweat on that one. My shirt was literally soaking wet! Crazy good workout, it's my new favorite machine!
I'm having a bit of social anxiety... School pick up is a gong show, very un-organized. I know it probably is due to it being the first week of school, but it's so crowded and busy, I haven't really been able to meet anyone yet. Drop off is better, but still, it's hard…Continue
That phrase has been weaving in and out of my mind for the past couple of days. I know I got breakfast down (I'm a total Super Mom cooking my kids' breakfast) and lunch. The problem comes when my hubby starts getting ready to go to work. By this time, I have been awake and working for 6 hours and will have no break until my mother comes to help out four hours later. Lately, it's been feeling like a week-long day. Sleep, wake up, work, sleep, wake up, work. NO BREAK. Even when my…Continue
I have to hand it to the people at UT...they must REALLY care about my fitness goals, cause man, the "40 acres" is a big campus and to have four classes at every corner of it is gonna have my butt in GREAT shape by Christmas! In the meantime my back is killing me due to my very, very lazy, gymless summer. How are all of you?
I have had such a good week at school. Fingers crossed the kids stay good. They started to get a little talky today, but I've been strict with them every time they try to talk a little, so I hope it stays calm in my classroom.
Yesterday was the Doggie Dive In, so hubby and I took our pups to the aquatic center to play in the pool. We were there about an hour, then stopped for an ice cream cone, and came home. It was a nice time.
Today, I came home, we worked…Continue
Work has me so down that all I want to do is eat. Now all I have is other employees watching me and reporting back what I am doing. Dreading a meeting next Wednesday where I will be told I am getting additional work and to suck it up. Lovely when you work at a company that rewards you for speaking up with more work and the suck-up gets less work. I was told I don't know what she does. If she is my counterpart and we do each other's work, what could she be doing that I'm not? Making…Continue
I've been reading Dr. B's book, Refuse to Regain, and one of her 12 Principles is to Be Tough. She addresses some of the issues I'm having, and concludes that when you allow moderation, it's tougher to make the new habits stick. Her book is for maintainers; I'm not maintaining yet, but I feel the principles (mostly) still apply. Dr. Barbara recommends 90 days, so I will set my target dates…Continue
I had a nice 40 minute brisk walk around the park's lake with my friend this morning.
My dear husband took a sick day today so he could drive me to and from the Podiatrist--I have gotten caught before when the doc gives me 5 or 6 cortisone shots in my feet and I'm in too much pain to drive home...So he took me, we waited a crazy long time to be seen.
The doctor came in and said "so how are you doing? Obviously staying moving and still losing weight?" I wanted to jump up and give…Continue
I haven't been on here in forever life just got in the way. I have been busy moving to the other side of the world! Here is a picture of where I live now.
This is where I get to run everyday I couldn't ask for a better view. Anyway moving and all the stress that went along with that helped to…Continue
Down 1.5 this morning! Woot woot! I'm happy about that, especially, since I had more wine & mimosa's then I planned.
I'm sitting here debating on whether or not to have more food right now. I have the calories, but i'm trying to figure out if I am actually hungry or just dissatisfied by my dinner. I think it may be a bit of both. I did get a run in, a little over 3 miles in my hilly neighborhood. I swear my speed up the hills is almost laughable! It is so amazing how much…Continue
