Weekly Update - 7/30

Weight - Zero. Stayed the same. No surprise since I did eat more than usual. Glad it wasn't a gain actually.

Exercise - Always consistent when it comes to this. Ran 4 days. Biked 1.

Food - Always a battle here. It is improving but.....

Mood - Better.

Week 3... I stayed the same

I'm not upset at all I was on target all week and I even started a little bit of exercise.  I forgot to discuss with my doctor, last week if  I had the ok to start a little bit of exercise.  In my head as long as I'm not pushing myself and putting too much strain on my joints I think he would actually welcome it.

Feeling It

I've been working on getting my mojo back after injuring my right knee in March. Thinking I'd just made it sore, I procrastinated about going to the doctor for 2 months. When I finally did, he said I'd torn the cartilage and they couldn't repair it. But, they could do arthroscopic surgery and remove the damaged cartilage. 

I had the surgery on June 17. It was quick and painless and I was back to a "normal" routine the next day. But I was advised to stop running and stick to activities…

Weekly Update - 7/23

Weight - Up 0.2 pounds.

Exercise - Ran 20 miles & a 14.4 mile bike ride. (I sound like a broken record)

Food - I did eat more calories this week, but I was hungry & chose listening to my body.

Mood - Improved.

Busy week

Today was WI day and I'm down another 1.5 LBS!  That's pretty good considering that we had our older daughter's graduation party this past Sunday!  It was fantastic but exhausting!  I cooked for 2 days then we had the party, it was a blur, then we had to clean up, pack up both cars, drive home then unpack everything, I was exhausted, maybe even a little dehydrated.  I felt ill.  I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to work on Mon. but I felt much better in the morning.  Work is crazy…

July 16, 2016; still at it!

I feel like working out in the morning is becoming routine. I don't really think twice about it or think of it as an option, I just do it. I like that. I also like that for the first time in my life if I miss a workout or it doesn't work with my schedule, I just move on to the next day. I used to feel like a failure for not being "perfect" but somehow my attitude is different. I'm liking it!

Weekly Update - 7/16

Weight - Down 1.0 pounds. It is going in the right direction.

Exercise - Ran 18 miles & got in a 14.5 mile bike ride. Running a new path lately. I love it.

Food - The struggle that never ends. I made good choices most of the week.

The Prodigal Daughter

Three years ago, I dropped into this site weighing 10 pounds heavier than my goal weight. I had lost 53 pounds as a WW member and was worried that the weight was coming back. Because I was blogging elsewhere and it was difficult to keep up with two sites, I slipped away from this site.

Week 1 (-3 Lbs.)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

July 13, 2016; check in

I completed a 30 minute dumbbell routine this morning! Feels great! 

Food wise, I have been doing well the last couple of days. Over the weekend we had a huge family birthday party, so I overindulged  there and it leaked into Sunday, but this week has been a healthy one so far! 

Gotta go chase the baby!! He is taking off down the hallway! haha.

& We have Movement!

Week two of the new job under the belt and it has confirmed my first impressions and that is "I have made the best decision!!"

I have gotten in some exercised between the incredible thunder storms with some runs, walks and today a Zumba class.  Yeah, a Zumba class.  I was pretty spastic, but I did sweat.  A friend of mine teaches some PiYo classes at this open gym along with a Buns class.  Its $5 a session.  The great thing is its on the way home from work now that I'm going in a…

July 7, 2016; baby steps

Literally! My baby took his first steps yesterday! I couldn't believe it! :D

Still here, still struggling

Although I haven't posted in a few, I do come on to read and comment. I haven't posted about my journey because I'm still not really doing anything. I have a baseline with  activity, but eating is still a problem. Also, after throwing myself into strength training, I hurt my back and now I am afraid to do too much activity. I can't believe it has been almost a year since I've posted!

I'm not going to sugar coat it.  I have had a really tough time over the last year or so!  I was diagnosed in February with Rheumatoid Arthritis after being sick with no diagnosis for 2 years.  Some relief to finally have a diagnosis but not one that I would ever want.  I've lived RA through my MIL, she was very much crippled and I was by her bedside when she passed at the age of 50.  I have struggled with the emotional aspects of the disease as well as the physical ones.  The fatigue is…

July 6, 2016; house work and a question

Yesterday I pledged to workout in the evening...and I actually ended up working out all day long! I did more house work than usual and it made me sweat and I considered that a workout! Plus add in crawling around with my 10 month old :) I feel like I kept my word even though I didn't do a true "workout video". 

This morning we got up and did a warm up, free weights, and ab routine. Feels good!

July 5, 2016; up at 4:30 this morning...

My 10 month old decided he needed to be up and active at 4:30 this morning! Luckily I convinced him to go back to sleep...but only if I was holding him. Putting him down was a no no. Generally he is an amazing sleeper. He has slept through the night for a long time, but just like any other human, he wakes up at random times every so often.

StepBet--My Next Challenge

I've known for awhile that I needed a new challenge--beyond the scale, so when I saw StepBet I decided it was just what I needed for now. Here's how it works: I signed up and paid my $40 fee. They assign me an "active" goal (9,259 steps) that I must meet 4 days a week and a "stretch" goal (12,859 steps) that I must meet 2 days a week. And that leaves one free day a week. July 4 th

Happy 4th of July. Today I did my 4 mile run. This marks race number 3 for the season so far. I am not the fastest runner but I am consistant. I was hoping to finish in 45 minutes or less. I ran it in 38:06. I was so damn happy with myself. I wasn't crazy out of breath or pushed beyond my means, but I certainly worked for it.
