No matter the plan... we all Blog to Lose!
What a difference a week makes. I cant believe the difference when I did BR1 today. I was able to do full squats, weights w everything and no modifications except push ups of course, but that will come with time. I made myself go to bed and quit reading and was up by 330 and working out by 430 which was perfect. Now I am determined to stick to the BR schedule. Im really thinking about subin a bike ride for cardio, I really don't like…Continue
Based on what I could learn from Dr. Google, the back pain I was having was from a strained, hopefully not torn, psoas muscle, a muscle that connects the spine to the groin and makes the hips move. I've been walking a bit, up to an hour at a time, but I've been afraid to run. The pain is almost completely gone now. The psoas only complains when I sit too long, which is helped by using a pillow between my back and the chair/sofa. I think I will be ready to run again by Monday. I just don't…Continue
I have finally given in. Anyone who is as active as me needs both a massage therapist and a chiropractor to stay healthy. I don't want to move from injury to injury I want to be healthy and happy.
I asked myself why do I put myself through this every day???? I had no answer. I asked my husband he said; " I think your addicted to running, especially trail running, its a good thing" " When you don't frolic in the forest your not very nice"
Stuff just got serious,…Continue
So yesterday was my son's 2nd birthday...boy, does time fly! I already knew I was going to indulge in some cake and ice-cream so I had a plan! In the morning, I hit the fitness center at my office building hard and fast...I walked at a 3.0 - 4.0 incline and got up to 4.0mph speeds to toast about 300 calories in 30 minutes (I got there late so I couldn't…Continue
Oh, how good it feels to be back in the comfort of my own home with the peace and quiet. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my family and going to see them, but it is a circus around there. My oldest sister has 3 kids, my middle sister has 1 kid, and my parents have a family of 4 living with them at the moment. That's a lot of people coming and going. I was excited to step on the scale today and see the feedback from the week. I am proud to say that I was DOWN 0.8 pounds for the week. I can't tell you the…Continue
If any of you have kiddos in your life, you will recognize that the title of today's post is in the tune of one of Katy Perry's hit songs. Now I'm not saying I don't think she is a great artist but I am saying that I could go without my 12 year old daughter wanted to dress up in a cupcake bra for Halloween. If you don't know what I'm talking about it is worth the google!
Anyway, I joined our local Planet Fitness yesterday and worked out on my own for the very first time. …Continue

It is 4:30 am I just finished reading through about dozen or so of the posting on BTL. It is interesting to see how we are all at different stages of the journey to weight loss and living healthier lives. To those who are succeeding at this time a happy face for you, for those who are struggling a happy face for you also along with get back on track, TRACK everything you are eating & journal if possible when you have a slip-up so you can see why you are having set…Continue
I have been part of Blog to Lose for several years, but have not been on here for quite awhile. I am so ready to be back to such a supportive group. I need it.
I am not giving in to buying new clothes. Mine are just getting to tight and when I look at my closet and see all the cute clothes I have, I just need to lose the weight and be healthier. I remember feeling and looking so much healthier.
A little background about me - after I had my second child (almost…Continue
I haven't been around much cause I'm trying to keep my head above water.
I work for Child Nutrition for K12; as a Supervisor I'm a twelve month employee.... so while everyone else is enjoying their summer, I'm back at the ranch getting ready for y'all to come back in August. For those who think that we don't do anything in the summer, I am here to tell you that is just a myth. There is so much planning and preparing that goes on behind the scenes - securing food bids and product for…Continue
I'm back to blogging and tracking!
The last two weeks of my research were crazy but I pulled through! I have been keeping up with exercising and eating right, though! I'm down 13 lbs! I hope to be down 20 lbs by the start of the school year, September 3rd. 7 lbs in a month and some days is a pretty realistic goal.
I hate switching routines, though. I had to adjust my routine to my research and now I have to adjust back. Then August…Continue
Ok, so by now you guys should know: when you don't hear from me in more than 3 days, send out the search dogs, I'm M.I.A.! And usually when I'm M.I.A., that is code for: "my schedule has gotten out of hand and so has my eating and exercising...again!"
BUT...THIS TIME, IT'S DIFFERENT!
I am very proud to say that even though my schedule has been less than ideal over these past 9…Continue
While I hate the time suck that is counting and tracking my calories, exercise, and meal plans, it is really the only thing I have found to consistently work for me. So I'd better get it down to a habit before school starts up again!
I went on a run again today and again it SUCKED. I'm not sure if I'm trying to do too much too fast or if my body needs more rest in between runs, or if adding weights has thrown me off....it is times like these that I wish I had an exercise…Continue
So I've made a connection. I have not been prepping as well as I was in the beginning. And I've been lazy about making salads, so I haven't been eating them as much!!! So yesterday I cooked my chicken breasts and I make 5 kale salads, and put my yogurt together with flax and berries & cinnamon for the next few days. I worked out in the am and was contemplating working out again in the evening! I decided not to and to get to bed early instead. I didn't have to work yesterday because…Continue
And that's all I am going to say about that.
Thankfully today is a new day.
Week 2 Weight in: 262.6
- 3.9 week 2
- 12.4 total
This week, friends? Totally celebrating! This is crazy - and I'm so excited! I think there is something powerful to cutting grains out of my diet. I have to say, I think my cravings are Really starting to change. It is amazing how in just a couple of weeks my body can adapt and respond to this new way of eating. Wild.
I'm going to set mini goals for each week - little ways that I can continue to…Continue
Good morning all! I am up earlier and had a tough time sleeping (over 2 years now; ugh!) so I ate every all three times I got up(again something I do and am trying to break). However, (I don't like BUT, it feels negative) I had a pretty good day yesterday. I stuck to my food plan and we started eating at the kitchen table again rather than in front of the TV. It only took a few years to break this habit! I also stopped eating at 10-15 minutes and only picked at leftovers a couple…Continue
This was my first day I worked out before work and boy did it SUCK. I totally half-assed it, I was stiff and my low back hurt the whole time. I was only up a half hr before I worked out and thats def not enough time. Tomorrow is my rest day and I will try to get to bed a half hour ealrier the next day so I can get up a half hr early and have an hr to wake up prior to working out. I really want to…Continue
Holy crap. That is all I'm going to say to describe the last year. Not even gonna go there. :)
So yeah, life happens. Things change. Chaos, stress, crash and burn, awareness, simplify, renewal. Working on renewal at the moment. Would like to have a better relationship with myself. No need to point fingers or blame. It just is. Have learned some good things about me lately. Have established some…Continue
